Because he was added so late to the Seige line, I see him popping up in the next season.

Just finished it last night. It was okay. A bit too short, but okay.

The kid doing Peter Cullen impression nails it when he does the impression calmly, but it falls apart anytime he has to emote anything stronger.

Making nearly everyone a generic body type was interesting, but it's application was very uneven.

The ending was a bit confusing on some of the survivors. Hound? Prowl?

I really hated seeing Prime get the shit kicked out of him by Megatron. That hurt something deep inside me. I think it's the fact that Megatron was gloating about how Prime could never beat him. That caused such cognitive dissonances in me who grew up with a Megatron who could NEVER get the better of Prime unless he cheated. Prime was the Guy who could stand up to the bullies and kick their asses not the guy who could stand back up after taking taking a beatdown. Hell I could do that. Hell I did that, It doesn't win you their respect it just got you hit Harder the next time. The Only Way to get bullies to leave you the fuck alone is to kick their ass. The Old Megatron Respected the hell out of Optimus Prime and Dreamed of he Day he would finally get the better of him (I would have waited an Eternity for this!). This Megatron has No Respect for Optimus Prime at all, hell he seems bored of the whole conflict and just wanted to get it over with.

Watched it for a second time and gotta say I enjoyed it even more (like turning into love), picked up on a lot of things I missed the first go round. Really like how they put a different spin on some of the characters.

    Standouts for me

    -Megatron
    -Jetfire
    -Ratchet
    -Mirage
    -Omega Supreme

-and a special shout out to Soundblaster - regret not grabbing him when I had the chance

I will be watching Seige many more times...feeling like there are other nuggets of gold I missed catching in the first 2 viewings.

I'm definitely going to be watching multiple times as well. I kind of regret not picking up the ratchet Walgreens figure because he was a standout in this show. I loved that whole impactor ratchet dynamic.

Sooo Arcee's question regarding soundblaster's similarities with soundwave is a bit strange. So there are shared body types among cybertronians right? Sideswipe and Red Alert are basically the same apart from color, and there are countless seekers and impactor's body types out there. So why is soundblaster's striking similarity with soundwave questionable? Are there unique body types that exclusive to some characters? Is there any explanation for this lore-wise?

I think those who fight even though they know they may lose because the enemy is stronger not only makes for a good story but makes for a good rule of life. Standing up against a bully is NEVER wrong:) .

I think it’s more of a case that Soundwave is distinct in appearance compared to other Cybertronians. In IDW 1.0 they explore this concept (constructed cold and forged).

I watched all of it before seeing other opinions online, as they often taint the experience and have you looking for negatives. Overall, this is the best looking TF cartoon ever, IMO. I liked pretty much 95% of it. Entertaining, some G1/IDW nods, switching old dynamics up into something new. I think it's a solid effort.

The only things I didn't like were the uniform-sounding voice actors (failure by the director). I closed my eyes and couldn't tell who was talking. And Soundwave's voice is buried deeper in the mix than the bass guitar on a heavy metal album - it's like his voice actor was at the far corner of the warehouse they were recording in.

Ya totally agree the dynamic between Ratchet and Impactor is fantastic! Impactor and Mirage as well...

Impactor is another standout I failed to mention in my previous post ;)

As much as I like the idea of Soundblaster being a neutral crime boss, that line about cloning is so ridiculous when you actually stop to think for two seconds about it. What makes a clone in a universe where people, even prominent characters, may look exactly the same as others in terms of body-type, but still have their own personalities? Does the Soundblaster clone have Soundwave's memories and intelligence as well as his body type, and just went insane due to his knowledge of being a clone? The thing is, what is even to be gained in Shockwave cloning Soundwave? Did he sit down with Megatron and go,

"Alright, I have a plan. We have a lot to worry about right now while at war, but this is what I think we should do. We'll clone Soundwave."

Like was there a meeting that took place between Megatron, Shockwave, and Soundwave where they were like: "Alright, meeting adjourned. We're cloning Soundwave, that's our main technological priority, makes sense to me."

I prefer Megatron to be stronger than Prime but I thought the Optimus Prime vs Megatron was well balanced, in the last fight Prime lands an incredible punch on him. They tie it into the dialogue nicely with Megatron saying cybertron needs his strength.

Seems like Prime rises to the occassion for the final fight just like he did in the 1986 movie

I only wish the fight was 5 minutes longer and Megatron pulled out his energon mace or his sword.

They really nailed his fusion cannon effect it looked powerful

I loved sound blaster being a clone. Makes more sense than changing one’s name because your look changes (however, David Bowie made a career of it)...

Jetfire was by far my favorite character in this. Did like the idea of autobots not trusting him, unlike the instant acceptance of Skyfire in G1.

shockwave with a lab full of plot devices was a tad toooooo convenient for me, but I must admit I laughed out loud when Megatron calls him out on having too many secret experiments for his tastes.

Most surprising accolade I can give the cartoon: my wife loves it! This has been the only transformers media she actually watched with me. Usually she’s on her cellphone, ignoring the tv. With this, she was watching every single minute and was upset when the season ended.

According to her, she likes it because it moves straight to the key points without boring filler like the other cartoons.

    I watched the first two.
Not as bad as I thought. Very watchable.

The fighting could be a bit more dynamic. The voices were uniformly generic.
Does feel like watching toys, not bots.

lame how ultra Magnus got captured so quickly.

You could do a drinking game based on how often Bumblebee says he’s “not an Autobot” or a Decepticon says “prepare to die!”

I noticed that. It thought myself that it seriously sounded like he was standing way too far away from the mic. Plus, it sounded like he was doing just a normal speaking voice, which sounds kind of awkward when it’s Soundwave.
Or how many times a character (especially Optimus) says “we must do blah blah etc.” instead of just fucking doing something.

In real life, when someone gives an order, they just say, “go clean the countertop.” There is no overly dramatic “We... must go.... and clean the counter!” I absolutely can not stand Optimus speaking like a stereotypical sci-fi robot everywhere he goes. There is no reason he should have to have an irrational phobia of using verbal contractions when he speaks.
I don’t understand why he was just... under the spacebridge. How did he get there? Was he there the whole time? Why wasn’t he with the rest of the guardians? His decision that Megatron was suddenly game to be fought on the last day of the war because he was a threat to Cybertron doesn’t make any sense either. Isn’t that exactly what Optimus was trying to explain to the guardians, presumably numerous times throughout the war?

He actually explains it. He’s no longer a “guardian”... His actions are his own, which is why he arrived alone. He mulled over Optimus’s words and decided Megatron’s ambitions WOULD finish cybertron.

as for how he arrived, cybertron seems to have tons of large, hollow Subterranean passageways. Pretty sure as a “guardian” he’s got access to anywhere on the planet when needed. Not a very good defender if he gets stuck in traffic and arrives after the world explodes.

This is a long-standing (8+ years), and rather odd, Optimus vocal quirk. Why does seriousness= not using contractions in the minds of scriptwriters?
    :lol
    Or, alternatively:
Soundwave: (walks into Shockwave's lab, sees a clone of himself in a tube) Query: What is this?
Shockwave: Greetings, Soundwave. I analyzed our current situation, and determined that the most logical course of action was to create a clone of you. You are our most effective information gatherer, and my preliminary estimates suggest that Decepticon efficiency will increase by 75.4% once the clone is complete and prepared to enter the field.
Soundwave: Has this been cleared with Lord Megatron?
Shockwave: Affirmative. I presented the idea to him five weeks ago, and he agreed that it is considerably more logical to devote our time and resources to a clone of you rather than to weaponry or defensive fortifications.
    Soundwave: What?
Shockwave: (Ignoring him) I did a complete scan of your form three weeks ago, and the project has been going precisely as planned. You've arrived just in time for me to allow the clone to emerge from its protective pod for the first time.
Soundwave: You did a complete scan of me without telling me?
Shockwave: Affirmative. I fail to see why you are bothered by this, though. I have complete scans of the forms of everyone in this army. Where did you think all of our Reflectors came from?
(Shockwave presses buttons on his computer; Tube surrounding Soundblaster lowers)
    Soundblaster: (To Soundwave) Brother?
Soundwave: (To Shockwave) I hate you.
