I don't think it's budget cuts, as Leadfoot comes with an otherwise unneeded Steeljaw character who I would assume would be cut first. I think it's more of a case of the further down the line the movies went the harder the designs became to translate into toys. I wouldn't say the later SS toys are any less accurate than the earlier ones: and in the case of the Bumblebee movie toys the later ones are far more accurate the earlier versions in the same line (compare Jeep Bumblebee, Car Dropkick and Jet Shatter to the earlier incarnations).

 

Satelite soundwave's bad alt mode is partly because they re used dotm soundwave's mold but heavily modified. He has the merc parts on his tighs like the dotm version. Maybe they should have used the 2009 deluxe as a skeleton and worked from there. Use some of that toy's engineering but add some upgrades to the transformation they could not do back in the day.

 

So much for "the Target symbol means he will never be able to be released outside the US".

I think SS has gotten better and better for the most part, with very few exceptions. Satellite Soundwave is a total letdown and one of the only figures that looks worse than its predecessor. Some of the recent deluxes have been lame, but that's just cause deluxes in any line are hit-or-miss, and they're doing characters that most of us care about less anyways.

 

Those examples of inaccuracies you listed have been around since the start of Studio Series. For example, Ratchet’s roof bar not collapsing, Ironhide’s bumper, Brawl’s turret, and SS Crankcase not even being Crankcase at all.

The quality of Studio Series has been consistent so far and I like it. It’s not perfect but it isn’t too far from it either.

I figured UK accents were the default voices so many characters for them because it makes it sound more important and smart to casual movie going Americans.

 

Everytime this thread is bumped, I think it's back in stock. Or at least more preorders are up.

 

I'm not too worried as this has happened multiple times in the past for me. Amazon often has a totally unreasonable release date and it ultimately ends up shipping around the same time Pulse or BBTS would.

 

I don\'t know about you, but I\'m loving Leadfoot. Yeah, Hasbro did get lazy with transformation, but I feel like this Leadfoot is the most accurate we\'ve ever had. A bit of paint job and a few stickers, and this leadfoot is gonna be the best

 

I think all the lines were rushed for this year, with john warden leaving and the covid thing, it's probably that.

 

Sadly no it was Delayed atleast it gives me a reason to get more earthrise stuff and Generations selects stuff for my generation shelfs

From the sounds of things next years wave seems to be more hyped up With the addition of Dino and Jolt and the 86 movie coming to the line with a leader class grimlock. And ofcourse we're getting another bumblebee From rotf lol

Same Thing going on with me. Saying that they will email me when they have a specified date both soundwave and topspin are Delayed. blitzwing and cliffjumper are expected to arrive in October

 

With TF development lead times I think we've got roughly 1-2 years more of Warden-lead stuff coming down the pipe, I would think Kingdom may be it for that era and whatever comes next may be the transitionary period.

Seems like COVID is already rearing its head on the physical logistics side of stuff however, with it now being August and Wave 2 Earthrise just now barely starting to show up around the world.
