Note that the hands combine the best parts of Sunstreaker and Prime, giving him hinges at two knuckles for every finger, plus a base palm hinge. He even improves on every other hand we’ve seen by giving the thumb 2 hinges and a base swivel!

 

The text actually said he has similar waist articulation as MP44.

I can see where there’s some form of fake out going on. I think the jet canopy is actually completely hidden in the back whereas the canopy in the front is a faux part that rotates 180 in jet mode. I also think the actual jet nose/forward fuselage flips up 180, splits in half and rests on the back.

 

I’m on the same wavelength buddy. I’ve been looking at this for the last 20 minutes. This is what I was thinking where the canopy is. Please don’t mind the crude coloring.
The bot canopy looks too big to be the altmode canopy.

 

Same, I alluded to this in an earlier post. But it’s wholly possible that panel is merely a panel...perhaps the isolated section with the canopy that appears on the chest is real, and the rest of the nose/the bottom of the nose section ends up on the back? Or inside the torso but visible in the backpack?

Here's the first one down Shin...I went full-on Toy+ deco, which I realize now may not be exactly what you wanted   Multiple head options depending on how one might interpret the toy.




These also have cleaned up lines from the new high-res scans (otherwise Cheebs was most kind to offer me his lines)...be back soon with G2, other toy Seekers, etc.

All you have to do is look at the canopy from the side. The bottom edge of the canopy (referencing jet mode) is almost an S-curve. Not at all like a real F-15's canopy glass/framing bottom edge. It only curves slightly, and "goes up at both ends", not an S.



Also, the F-15's canopy, is really only curved in the middle. Look at the top of it----ahead of the forward frame, and aft of the rear frame----basically straight lines. It really only arches in-between the frames. Now look at the top of the canopy of the bot----one single arch, end to end.

 

Exchange Sunstorm for Thundercracker and I feel the same way.

 

I actually think it'd be really cool if they gave a toy starscream a new head, like the coneheads with a little faux nosecone hanging off the back

 

Man, I'd forgotten how ace the MP-03 jet mode was with the filled in sides - shame there was too much green in the final release - a more realistic grey and that would have ranked as the best F-15 Transformer of all time.

Faux canopy is a bummer but I guess it was to be expected. I forgave Sunstreaker for his faux parts - maybe I should forgive Starscream. Maybe.

We have 35 years of SS with actual alt mode canopy, one fake for show accuracy could exist
