They are putting out completely new stuff too. Their AoE Grimlock is coming out at the same time of the IDW repaints. So I think there's hope this is an actual comeback and not them simply milking old molds and calling it quits.

 

Can they re-issue prowl first tho?

 

No interest in Smokescreen but hoping for a re-issue of Prowl and looking forward to blue Bluestreak

 

Yeah, I'd take a new Prowl over this easily. I mean, I would not mind getting both, but these are pretty big and pricy 'bots, and I'd give priority to the one who wore this design first and better.

Have they confirmed there will be a Blue Streak repaint as well? That could be awesome (although this is as well).

I’d buy a diaclone blue Bluestreak if they did it. I’ve headcanoned that he’s the evil version of smokescreen in my head.

edit: to be more descriptive or accurate. G2 smokescreen is who I headcanon him as.

Mine is that he's the "real" Bluestreak. He was presumed to have died in a Decepticon bombing of the home city of him and his "brothers" "Silver" Streak, Prowl and Smokescreen. "Silver" Streak was the only survivor (the other two were away) and he got misidentified as Bluestreak. The other two got him to go along with it when it helped rally for the Autobot cause.

There's also the black n' purple coloured Barricade. He's actually Prowl from the Shattered Glass-verse, but got trapped here long ago. He impersonated Prowl to take out the early warning system that would have prevented the bombing.

 

I like it. Sounds like it could work as a movie.

 

Naturally both the real Bluestreak and Barricade return in Megatron's ranks.

 

Took them long enough. I long since put in a preorder at Robotkingdom, didn't want to miss him. Realisticly it will be in stock there long before BBTS anyhow. But I prefer to do my preorders at BBTS because they're so easy to cancel if someone else gets it first.

 

Again, repaint in Alternators/Binaltech colors and we’ll talk.

 

This is actually my reasoning to making blue Bluestreak my g2 smokescreen in headcanon. BT smokescreen actually becomes the g2 version.

 

Smokescreen is a Lost Light guy, right? I passed on Prowl but kinda have a Lost Light shelf going. Thinking this might be a good addition to that, and a way to experience the mold.

 

You mean to say you hope this figure gets done in a Subaru WRX paint style. Since his alt mode is in no way shape or form a Suburu WRX, this will likely never happen. You could always hook up with a talented customizer though.

Grab Prowl. Smokescreen never looked like this. This is a way for them to recoup money with a repaint and call it something else.

It would end up looking a bit like Disguise Mode Binaltech prowl or Diaclone Bluestreak - as there isn't much surface for sponsor logos.

Speaking of Logo's if this is a "Pre-Earth" Character perhaps he should have the Cybertronian Text for 38 on him instead of Earth lettering ?

Though that may depend on if this character model exists in any comic or not and if it's supposed to match that or is just an "Inspired by Smokescreen" colourscheme applied to a Prowl body.

I do like the car mode though - it's just similar enough to the War Within one to seem "proper" to me as a pre-earth mode and not a bit 'out there' like some altmodes from IDW Comics can be sometimes.
