    Good?

I'm not sure if I should celebrate this. Wonder if it's saying more about TF's popularity in general or its fanbase in particular.

Well I downloaded the CAM copy that came out in the summer. BUT I also bought the Best Buys Exclusive and regular DVD when it came out in October, you can put me in both statistics :D

I'm sure this will be used as proof that if piracy were somehow magically stopped, the MPAA and studios et al would have made BILLIONS more in DVD sales. Of course, that's ridiculous. Anyone who can afford to get the DVD, gets it. The only people who can afford to get them and don't, are people who didn't want it enough in the first place, or people who are giving the MPAA the finger by downloading it.
I'm not at all surprised by this "award" though, given it's popularity overall, and geek factor.

This reminds me of the BotCon screening. I had my Voyager Ironhide with me and the camera monitor guy kept coming up to me during the movie asking "Is that a camera?!"

I'd say the target demographic for popcorn action flicks also happens to be the group most likely to be able and willing to pirate them. I don't think the TF fanbase is more than a fraction of this figure.

:lol  shoulda brought Real Gear Zoom Out.

Since I didn't bother to watch the movie or download it. It doesn't matter to me.

Though I'm not surprised by it either.

The question is, how many people downloaded a priated copy before the movie was released in their town/ city. country, and likewise, how many downloaded it to get their fix but then also bought the dvd release.

Until they do that, there won't be much proof that this hurt the movies profits at all.

All I know is this, I paid to see that piece of garbage in a movie theatre, and I feel Dreamworks owes me some money for that.

Quoted for truth. The only thing this movie had going for it were the visuals, and even that was shaky (prime with flames and lips = no thank you, designs in general were bad)

That being said, does this mean that those lovable pirates are going to be working on a rip of the hddvd that I can watch on Blu-ray (it can be ported over) since Paramount decided to bait and switch me on my HD fix? I would like to see this movie in glorious 1080p but it turns out that Paramount/Dreamworks didn't want my money after all.

I can say I downloaded this movie, but I paid money to see it in theaters like 10 bucks, I don't think its worth buying it again. It is not a movie I'll see more than once in like two years. I will get it eventually, but not right now.

I got a pirated copy right off the hop. I also paid to see it in the theater four or five times. And I bought an official dvd release. I love this fricken movie!
