Has anyone in the UK bought this from ShowZ? I've had it preordered for months and paid last week for it. It says waiting to come in to stock and I've noticed they've added a date saying september. I've emailed them and got no response.

 

Damn... I have the DX9 and Ocular Max but somehow I need this one too

Did the leg fix, transformed for the first time and.....



Pin in the left spoiler not properly set and is stuck solid in its guide hole meaning no movement and no transformation.

That glue residue I mentioned on top of the same spoiler must have been a warning!  

 

I hate to be that guy, but people buying this and having to do surgery and still getting a below standard figure shouldn't complain....you knew what you were getting into.

 

This is a new QC issue. Sure, the knees are something everyone knows about going in.
Knowledge of that is calculated risk.

Any other issues that haven't been acknowledged by the company or other collectors is fair game.

 

I think that there is a good chance, that we get translucent version of TE-03, since TE did that version of TE-01. And i think, that translucent version of TE-01 was indeed test shot if considering TE-03. Translucent belongs more to Mirage than to Optimus Prime.

 

The leg issue was only known a few days before he was in the wild over here, but was pre-ordered weeks before.

People thinking of buying it now have a knowledge of that calculated risk and can decide to buy, wait or pass but pre-orders not so much.

The hip fix sucks but is relatively easy to do, and while I fully agree its something that shouldn’t need to be done in the first place, I could sit here and type out problems I’ve had to “fix” or live with on prob 75-80% of my collection.

 

I think I'm canceling my TFsource preorder and waiting on the 2nd wave. All the issues people are reporting turned me off to what is otherwise a nice Mirage.

 

The hip fix doesn't bother me. I'd rather a QC issue in the sense it's misassembled vs the usual QC issue of something just being broken.

I did but it's already shipped now. Can't remember when I pre-ordered it to be fair though.

I have both convention exclusives. I think I’ll sell my regular Sphinx and get this one. Those convention ones are pretty bad ass imho even compared to this one.

 

WOW, that reviewer is painfully terrible at transformations.

Looks fine to me. He struggled a bit tabbing everything together towards the end. I wonder if it because it needed the hip fix. At least he didn’t take it off screen and then everything magically tabs together. Good to see where one might struggle with for the transformation

 

Okay, so I just collected mine and I cannot for the life of me swap the head. It looks as though you should be able to unscrew the front part of the head and swap the face plate, then screw the front back on, but mine does not want to go at all. So I thought I'd just swap for the shorter head and I can't see that you can simply pull the head off of the ball joint and replace either. It's so tight it feels like it will break. How have people been doing it?

What is it with Mirage toys having crap head swaps?!

*Edit* Finally did it. The screw on the original was bent, hence it not wanting to go back on properly. I think it threaded the old head, but I'm not too bothered. The new head is on after I yanked the old one off and thought I was gonna break it. Then that didn't want to snap back together because it's so tight. He's probably gonna have his smiling face forever now! How hard it is to engineer face swaps that don't feel like they'll break the figure?

Oh and at least one of my legs is incorrectly assembled.

 

Rubbish. I ordered, paid for it and the thing was already on its way before any of this came to light.
