Well seeing the thread will be a dumpster fire, here’s my opinion

I actually liked it somewhat, it wasn’t perfect but it was mediocre prime was the weakest character idk his voice is alright but the lines to me we’re what made it so poor to me, Jetfire by far was my favorite character, and ohhhh goodness Keith Silverstein nailed it. Showed pure Decepticon when he was and gave all the Autobot emotions I could want when he turned. Soundblaster fixes all the holes with him for me as a character, no offense to anyone who likes the headmasters but like that was pure joy to here his origins. it’s exactly as I imagined also I enjoyed him and the voice!. everyone else was alright, impactor was good, ratchet was also really good to me, and red alert too. this series strays away some from g1 but u know...I like this, it felt like a pretty good change that works for me surprisingly. step in the right direction.

Closing statement, recommend for anyone who wants a diffrent take on things, if your pure g1 probably not ,but jetfire really was something I enjoyed the most just pure gold. hoping there will be more, and can’t wait for anyone else to show up like soundblaster did,

Soundblaster! And Keith Silverstein jetfire for life!

In the end we will never have another g1 just face it. But new takes welcome thx

It's really not hard to make a good TF show. It just needs energy, charisma, and passion, three key elements absent from WFC.

I just finished it a little bit ago. Its not bad but its not great. I'm going to re-watch it.

The things that stick out for me is everyone seems like they're moving and speaking in slow motion. Most of the voice work is a mixed bag. Everyone sounds the same for the most part. That's where TF shows of the past shined. G1, Beast Wars, TFA and Prime had great voice talent to where each character was distinct. Its like they're afraid to put a little bit of accents in there too.

Also I really wish modern TF shows/films would drop the The Allspark/relic as a plot device. Its getting tired. But it's better than the previous Machinma stuff, if that's not a high bar though.

Is it too much to ask for a more traditional 2d anime film kind of experience? I really would like to see animation done in the vain of Gurren Lagann. That show had a lot of energy and actually a positive message about believing in yourself. I'd really like to see Transformers return to their eastern influences. Stand alone films in the vain of the DC Animated films. Though those have been in a steady decline over the last six to eight years.

I'm curious to see where the story goes.

Another thing to note about Siege is that a lot of what I did like about it was due to them successfully pressing my nostalgia buttons. To demonstrate:
-Shockwave has his G1 design! EEE!
-Ravage, Laserbeak, and Buzzsaw have two-second cameos! EEE!
-Starscream is acting exactly like G1 Starscream! EEE!
-Wheeljack sounds and acts like G1 Wheeljack! EEE!
-Skyfire is here and defects from the Decepticons to the Autobots just like he did in G1, but now he talks kind of like Dinobot from BW! EEE!
-Ratchet is here and is friends with Wheeljack! EEE!
-Soundwave looks like G1 Soundwave and does things with screens like WFC Soundwave! EEE!
-Elita One is here and leading missions! EEE!
-Mirage is here, and his powers work the way they're supposed to, and he has his original bio backstory! EEEE!
-Megatron insults Starscream like he does in...pretty much every show they both appear in! EEE!
-Omega Supreme is really big like he was in G1 and WFC! EEE!
-Generic Seekers like in "More Than Meets the Eye!" (the G1 episode, not the comic). EEE!
You get the idea. In fact, probably the only un-nostalgia-related things I really liked were Impactor (and his character arc), Soundblaster (the best part of the show), and Ratchet's interesting new backstory.

You guys realize that people like you are the reason that transformers is basically dead right now, right? I mean seriously this website is a toxic echo camber for grown adults who won't accept anything other than a return of TFA, a cartoon meant for children simply because that's what you've all decided should happen right now. Like this is some My little pony cult stuff. Sure some VA wasn't good in siege but it's a breath of fresh air. But no, thats not good enough because now it's too dark. You guys all get made because they make mistakes over and over and then when they try something new to avoid the old mistakes all you can do is point out the new ones. Like really? Too dark? This is an accurate representation of how dark the war for cybertron is. You guys are just a bunch of bitter, entitled "true fans" who wont ever be happy because no show will ever be exactly what you want down to the smallest detail. There are some people on here who aren't toxic but they are few and far between.

Just finished it up, it was good. Not great, not bad, but overall I did enjoy it.

As predicted, Rooster Teeth's nepotism method of casting really shot the English dub in the foot. Optimus, at his best, sounded like Dr Smoov's Optimus, and during his unnecessary temper tantrum yelling fits sounded like an 18 year old boy. It was very clear that the VA could only portray "Optimus" in one vocal inflection, and completely falls apart when trying to show any other range. Jetfire sounded like an 80 year old smoker and is a complete misuse of Keith Silverstein who is an INCREDIBLE talent. Shockwave sounded like an evil grandfather instead of cold and calculating, and Soundwave just sounded out of breath and pitchy because you need a deep voice behind the vocoder to make it work.

Megatron was fantastic, Starscream was hilarious, Elita had great presence, and the rest of the cast worked for what they were. I liked how Hound sounded like his movie counterpart, Wheeljack was pretty G1, and while every other voice was fairly generic, they worked.

The plot was alright, the cameos were cool (Astrotrain being my favorite little bit), and I hope they can fix the glaring flaws in the show moving forward.

Overall I'd probably give it a 7/10. It just felt like a movie they cut up into episodes, but I really did enjoy it overall. Going to give it a rewatch in the Japanese dub to see those voices in action, because based on the trailer they were a hell of a lot better.

Finally got into this today. I’m enjoying the story and look of it.
I do however wish there was a bit more variety in the voices. With a few exceptions I find a lot of them too similar. With most of the Transformers shows you could tell who was who from another room.

I did enjoy it but it's easier to list what I didn't like:

    Bumblebee
    Soundwave's voice
    Starscream's voice
    Mirage's voice
Hound and Ironhide should have swapped voices and roles.
    Shockwave's voice.
    Omega Supreme's voice.

It's true that Skywarp usually doesn't get much dialogue, but he is an iconic presence as a member of the Seeker trio. Magnus's arc was a good one. I'm just disappointed he won't get more screen time or be present during the transformers' time on Earth. Also, why do TV shows refuse to acknowledge Magnus's inner robot form??? I was really hoping to see that a la a Dreamwave twist, where a supposedly dead Magnus emerges from his armor. Total wasted opportunity if you ask me.

    Ok this is just ridiculous.

    1) Transformers is demonstratively not "basically dead."
    2) There breadth of opinion on this website is wide and deep. Some people love this new thing. Others hate it. Those that love it love it for different reasons (new takes; nostalgia; Soundblaster) - those that hate it hate it for just as wide a range of reasons (the pacing, the animation, the plotting)
    3) The voice acting is not great, but it's not helped by how flat the dialogue is or the... long... long... pauses in the action.
    4) I've not seen anyone complaining it's too dark, but by all means light that darkness by burning a straw man.
    5) I haven't seen a single post where people are wanting this to be "exactly what they want down to the smallest detail." All most people want is something that has a script that doesn't telegraph every plot twist; animation that they couldn't do better themselves with a decent Masterpiece collection and a lightbox; and a bit of dynamism - or visuals that at least move faster than a 2CV in concrete tyres on a wet Wednesday in Wales.
