Tigertrack was a toy only character. Exhaust was a toy only character. They got new toys. I don't think being a toy only character should be a restriction on those characters getting more toys in future. Of course, I don't expect them to be new molds, just repaints and remolds of existing molds. And for Cybershark, that is perfectly acceptable. New Sky-Byte toys should be repainted as Cybershark. When it comes to repaints, nobody looks closer to Sky-Byte than Cybershark does. And now Hellwarp.

I think the size class for Rodimis was already leaked very early on.

I'd be curious if any of the Thrilling 30 Beast molds are fair game for a modern Generations line, or if part counts, etc. have changed enough since that line to prevent that. Otherwise, I'd think T30 Sky Byte as Cybershark would be fair game as a Selects/Exclusives release.

I wouldn't be surprised if we get at least a couple toy-only BW characters through those additional releases, there's plenty of existing repaints/retools from the brand's history for the Season 1 characters to pad out those releases, but like Apollux has said that's up in the air with how much is G1 VS BW. There's still plenty of G1 repaints/retools they can milk out of the WFC molds we've already gotten.

That being said, the talk of a Dark Designs Predacon Rhinox in weak, give me a Selects McDonald's Rhino!

He never used his trailer in the cartoon as a weapons platform.

Personally, I'd prefer a base mode to interconnect with other baseformers in the line. But a Core Rodimus to fit the size class would be useless to me. In that case, I'd just stick with PotP Roddy in that I'd rather he be too tall than too short.

I think just about everyone from the show got a repaint as a new character, either at retail or from BotCon, so anything is possible.

I'd be okay if they dropped it as a separate piece and just did a Carry. Honestly, that toy is basic enough that Hasbro could sell a similar design as a Leader pretty easily, while actually still looking great.

What if there's a new Rhinox that's basically like ER Starscream and it's inspired by the older T30 Rhinox with some design tweaks?

And am I the only one that'd like to see Tigatron repainted into the original orange color scheme as a Bengal tiger?

That size class of Rodimus was an assumption by the person who collected all the bits and pieces of info the source had been discussing. They've since stated (in this thread I think?) that everyone is assuming that Rodimus is a Leader - insinuating he's not.

I didn't buy him. Only had Armada Prime who I thought looked cool, but was tiny, so lost any interest in the rest. If he looked like that or the upgraded classic one then that would look cool.

Not a random sample but ok. He would look cool, I just think in a line that has done a lot of cool things and been pretty accurate to original designs it would be more consistent to have a base. I dig the bases. I think he will look cool either way. 90% + of this brand has integrated transformations. I love Warden b/c he likes bases/dioramas and to me it adds so much getting those platforms and such even if they can be improved on. When/if they go away to appease the "majority" for the sake of everything being integrated......I will too. My money won't be going Hasbro's way.

    Dinosaurs seem like a longshot

I think getting his battle platform would be pretty neat, There's probably a way to get both, armor up....but the armor can be a weapons platform. The only downside as here, that I worry about, is having a very unfinished Rodimus alt without the trailer.

Matrix chamber would be epic here. The Japanese comic would surely show him attaching the Matrix to his battle platform cannon..

I'm fairly confident a toy-accurate Rodimus Prime figure would be fairly easy to engineer and would be similar in design to Earthrise Optimus Prime in terms of being a Voyager with a trailer that open up.

My idea is a leader class would Be Big Convoy and would make for an easy Ultra mammoth repaint

They recently released that, 3 times, and I don't think you could really improve on that. Now Bat Optimus and Gater Megatron, I'd like to see another go.

No... the aliens took them from Earth before they went extinct. Haven't you seen "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship" from Doctor Who?

Clearly you didn't know all of that. I was correcting the information you got wrong.

I said it was unlikely not impossible. There's a difference.

Most of the figures we've been getting have been updated for on screen accuracy... not Masterpiece quality screen accuracy (that's a different toy line) but still accurate enough. A few other characters get tossed in as well but they're few and far between. Most of the toy only characters we have gotten as you seem to admit yourself have been repaints of other characters not even new molds.

Again I said it was unlikely not impossible. You're really just supporting why it's unlikely.

The original Hellscream was a retool of the original Cybershark not the TM2 version. Hellwarp who is suppose to be a homage to Hellscream doesn't even really look like him because the mold is based on TM2 Cybershark rather than the Cyberbeast figure. The colors are there to invoke the character but it's still not the same. A Cybershark repaint would of fit the mold better but they chose to go with a character from the BW2 cartoon than to do a toy only character.

So again you're just proving why it's unlikely to ever happen... That doesn't mean it won't happen. I'm not saying it'll never happen... just that it doesn't seem very likely based on past decisions. Toy only characters aren't too high on their list of priorities. Mostly it's anything G1, occasionally other cartoons that aren't G1, some times Japanese only characters... and toy only stuff is way down there at the bottom.

I think it's likely there will more Beast Wars characters besides the 14 from season one, because if Kingdom is a 50-50 split then there's going to be more BW characters, this guess of mine is based on how many characters came out in the Siege line.

@Purple Heart was good enough to point me in the direction of an interview with F.J. DeSanto by SYFY Wire discussing Siege and the larger War For Cybertron Trilogy. DeSanto's comments on Kingdom are very interesting:

What I'm excited about is that we knew from the very beginning, almost two years ago, that Kingdom was going to be the third chapter. [...] We spent a lot of time developing the trilogy as a whole, so what I'm excited about is people trying to figure out how we get to Kingdom. Siege to Earthrise to Kingdom: it's three chapters of a trilogy, but they're distinctly different even though they tell one large story.

It reaffirms that this has all been in the planning for a long time, and all those hints that John Warden has dropped over the years about Beast Wars were exactly that.
