This is.. not very good.

Transformers shows should do high stakes while remaining fun, right? Even the recent Cyberverse - for all its faults - does that. Siege is.. weird. Nowhere near as bad a production as Machinima, but its tone makes me wanna hang around bus stations while drinking white cider again.

It's aimed at us - at least a certain demographic of 'us' anyway - and that's its main problem.

Kids will think it's fucking shite as it is relentlessly morose and 5 episodes in there's almost zero humour in here. Where it exists, it doesn't land. It ain't for me either, mainly for these reasons and also because the delivery of the script is incredibly lacklustre. With a few notable exceptions, everyone sounds the fucking same. Wheeljack, where he crops up, lights up the screen but even he can't lift proceedings.

Of course, given the stakes and where it takes place in the timeline, I know to expect a gritty, violent and serious piece here. But we've also got a catalogue of great media to prove that this doesn't come at the expense of sparkling scripts and vibrant characters. Unfortunately, despite being a visually superior beast to the previously mentioned Prime Wars Trilogy, this ones DNA still edges closest to that Machinima series. It's just so one note.

There's an audience for this grimdark type of story who are gonna put me in my box and that's cool, we can't get on with everything. That ain't gonna stop me seeing through this show as a flat, lifeless pile of old bollocks though.

Very weird. So essentially we got a rung/alpha trion/primus all into one. Nice!

 

Just watched episode 1. I LOVED it - this is what I’ve wanted for years. The only negative is the lack of transformations at times where it would be obvious to do so.

I think I know whomst you’re speaking of and we don’t know that yet

 

I just binged it with my 10 year old son. We both loved it. It is quite sinister but we appreciated the unique takes on some characters. The final episode ended the series really well and made up for the exhillaration the other 5 episodes may have lacked.

Can someone tell me which weaponizer the gun Sideswipe uses is from? I have seen it before...

Can't...not...nitpick...
Some of the voice acting is bad and it bothers me probably more than it should when the seekers hold their guns and Megatron doesn't have a cannon on his arm.
Did I get a defective Jetfire? I didn't find a big ass energy sword in the box...just a bunch of armor and guns he hasn't used(yet?). Also still bothers how short he is.

 

so I just decided on watching all of it back to back. Meh it's not bad, not good either. I feel like a lot of potential was left on the table. I don't really feel like I have much to say about it either. It just kinda exists.

 

Wheeljack being in makes sense because Earthrise is a continuation of Siege. Both Cars and Robots are made of more then just Metal. Plus the Bayverse had a Robot in a Metal Trench Coat that moved like a Trench Coat.

 

So uh....what's in the 2nd spoiler box?

 

Is it just me or are some of the character portrayals character defining, even despite the wonky voice acting in places.

Plus how is the defective clone of my boi soundwave a better character than soundwave.
