I can't agree with that there. I don't think I can post images, but I'm looking at a bunch of toys and art of her. In each pic, aside from the FT ones, her legs are pretty chunky and have this strange mechanical look to them. Sometimes they have jet fins or thrusters on them. They aren't anything like Arcee's, which are just regular, near-featureless legs.

 

Arcee has flats. Windblade has rocket-powered go-go boots.

 

I didn't say they were like Arcee's, I said they're more like boots. (like how G1 Hot Rod's legs look like boots) Also I'm going off of the three header images on TFWiki, and while one has fins on the back of her legs, none are particularly defined with kibble. In fatc it seems pretty inconsistent just what Windblade's legs look like.

Am I the only one who somehow think her older wings fit her 'cybertronian' design while the new wings seem more like a futuristic but more earth-like jet, akin to a more high tech Thrust?

 

There are a few TF characters that I'd probably buy if they were done in hunky designs. Megatron, Sideswipe, and Ultra Magnus I think would all work really well. Warpath could be done as a total beefcake bodybuilder type. And Jazz is definitely the sexiest Transformer so he'd be a shoe-in.

Dammit, now I have to do it, don't I. Okay, I'll get started on the wings. Have to wait until we see a prototype to see if her butt needs augmenting.

Regardless, back on topic, I'm actually really impressed that they didn't change anything about her proportions. Just the details. She looks just as good, if not better.

 

I might've miscommunication there, probably should've said "geometric" instead of blocky, my apologies. Though I still don't really agree with your point. Her legs aren't really like boots like Hot Rod's is. And they seem to consistently have that vent on her shin, some pointless spike thing in the back, sometimes a plane fin and thrusters.

Also, that's a hot Galvatron. Needs more bulge.

Not disagreeing with your point, but there are many models in the line that are not IDW based. In fact most are not

Original designs:

Optimus Prime (the first one)
Bumblebee
Starscream (and the other Seekers)
Devastator
Optimus Primal
Leo Prime
Windblade
G1 Cartoon Optimus Prime

IDW based:
Optimus Prime (IDW)
Megatron
Rodimus
Drift

Whether she fits or not with the others is not because the rest are IDW based at the very least.

When you add the Kuro Kara Kuri figures to the list, you certainly get more IDW based designs in the list, as all of those are IDW based (with Optimus being the most loosely based besides Victory Leo). The models are mostly designer specific designs with some IDW mixed in.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but this literally is the greyscale with color and wingtips that got left out, you can see the U shape area where the wingtips will slot in on the greyscale. The other difference I saw was the angle the hands are splayed the toy has more outwards the drawing more in line with the forearm. The last is there appear to be 4 paint apps or cuts or grooves into the heels on each foot. My guess is the greyscale wingtips were not done by the time to show the figure off. Yes, the first concept drawings are far different but not the greyscale.
