Well there’s KOs of DX9 Hot Rod coming. So if TFDF gets BA’s designs for Prime and auto hide there’ll be a flood of BA Primes on the market. I’ll wait to see if the rumor is true first..but if TFDF does do it, from reports it’s gonna be good. I hope so. I’ve never owned a TFDF and if they do those two figures for me it’ll put them on my map of companies to buy from. May be a good financial decision for them if they keep their head low.

 

Can anybody tell me what type of batteries the Capcomkai head takes? Thanks in advance!

Edit: found an old post. It takes an AG1, which is the equivalent of LR60.

Yeah, honestly I would really wanna see them flatten the chest out and offer an improved upgraded head. And I guess, I would like them to upgrade the figure as a whole since they've got the 3d cad data, maybe fix the articulation in the knees and give em back their almost 180 degree knee bend and also give the figure a larger head overall. A toe bend on such a figure would also be nice. Just these small incremental improvements on the molds would take it to a much higher level than before. And also, better locking tabs and hinges throughout the figure would also be nice.

And btw @JohnnyGundam could you post some pics of your modified optimus doing some poses, cause I would like to see how it would look in action poses with that modified chest. Thanks man.

 

Yeah, i'd like to see some improvements for their release, like the fragile bits and the head.

 

I am not as down in the dumps now, but still TF Dream Factory taking on the BA Mods is a rumor, so we still have no clue if they will be doing them ultimately or not. But it is nice to day-dream about it..
I wonder if there is anyone who can confirm the rumor with TF Dream Factory??? Anyone have a source or access to anyone who works with the company?

 

Even if someone did have a connection, it's a good idea not to share anything in these trying times. It's best to be pleasantly surprised if they get released.

They might wanna lay low for a bit considering that wj just got screwed over by the bei jing police. They might come out with info after this is all over though, but we have to wait and see, cause I doubt they'll release any info on such a sensitive subject at the moment.

 

Even though I was aware of how fragile the neck plate is, I attempted a transformation and had mine break on me as well . Luckily @capcomkai is sending a cast replacement (thanks again man)!

In the meantime though, I’d like to try out this method of drilling an access hole so I can have the original neck plate as an option to use. What method of drilling did you find worked the best (handheld, drill press, etc...) and is there anything I should know before I attempt the mod (best way to know you’re drilling in the right spot, etc...)? I haven’t taken a drill to a figure before so I guess I’m just a bit nervous haha...any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

 

I tried to drill a clean hole into the original neck plate to try to access the pin, but it was quite the hassle, as I used a Dremel haha.
I ended up getting through and removing the pin no problem however. I do not intend to use the original head/neck anyways.
I didn't even bother using the 3D printed plate after seeing the unfortunate update.
@savio-prime demonstrated how to do it in his post.

 

Already had the idea to do that for everyone and will do!

 

I drilled it out by hand, using a 0.080" diameter drill bit and a pin vice.

Bad news indeed. Looks like I ordered mine a little after an hour You ordered yours. We were the last 2. I got the Legendary Toys Prime figure from ShowZ, right when I found out about Black Apple. Sold it on ebay witrout even opening it. Like you, after seeing the Black Apples version, I had no intrest in LT. I am hopeful that a movie MP of Optimus comes out that can scale with Shake Sky Wing Megatron. Pretty bummed out by this news as well, but thanks for the heads up as it is appreciated.
