Time to finish my bot mode unpacking update.

Long Haul is a terrific figure. He and Scrapper are the two strongest boys in the set. Mixmaster is a close second to them, if only because the barrel is a bit finicky in bot mode.

Interestingly enough, the last three I opened were the weakest.

Bonecrusher is fine. I’m not crazy about the fold-back shoulder pauldrons/dozer blade, and the legs don’t look too great once the treads are folded away. QC is still fine.

Hook comes with the hook detached. There’s a screw and cap set to attach it, but I haven’t done it yet. Looks like a very minor pain in the butt to do. Whoever designed the thigh-plates that flop around and block the knees from bending just kind of gave up in the middle of designing this mold, I think.

Scavenger would have ranked higher, buuuuut...he arrived with a broken foot right out of the box. It’s a very small connection point, and even a tiny bit of glue sealed the rotating joint around it, preventing proper transformation. Pity, because everything else about him seemed great. I’ve already got a replacement on order.

 

Has anyone tried to fit an OS upgrade kit to nbk or gt gravity builder?

Quick note, Jin Jiang isn't an OS Gravity Builder. It's regular size.

 

If anyone is considering an original GT Gravity Builder complete with upgrade kit, I may be selling mine as well as Warbotron Bruticus, Warbotron Computron, and TFM Menasor in the near future. I'll probably be unloading all of them on the cheap side too

 

guessing you purchased these from HJZ given all those "notes" attached to the figures as you pulled them out of the packaging! LoL

You may! I got them on eBay from this seller. It says oversized, but it’s the 1:1 scale KO.

okay, took my first step into getting the Daban KO. only picked up one bot for now as i found a good deal on it that i couldn't pass up. even though i knew they were large figures, i still wasn't prepared for what to expect in hand. he's a lot bigger than i had anticipated. here is LongHaul with my KBB voyager MP10V. as much as i want to get the entire set, i'm not sure if i want to purchase the remaining 4 bots as i don't think i have the room to keep them in either combined mode or individual bots.   if i do, i think i'll have to do a slow burn on this and only get them if i get good deals on each one.

 

That's Mixmaster, and there's six bots total, not five.

 

yes, you are correct on both accounts. was having a bit of a seniors moment when i wrote all that!    

 

I'd buy just also 2 or 3 JJ Constructicons because in vehicle mode the orange version is awesome and are cheap,of course I'd not transform them in bots because in some videos show how Mixmaster has weak joints ,even broken pins after first transforming,and for combiner neither to ask,just terrible.

Instead ,about the combiner,I've saw that in some poses NBK combiner suffers and can fall,as with spread legs,do you think that for simples poses and to keep for few months in combiner ,an NBK is already OK or absolutely the Daban?I'd proceed with NBK because are so cheap that I can have 2 sets,but I like to hear your impressions.

 

I'd like to update a thing: in bot mode Scrapper has more slender legs than NBK and for this I'd buy one to keep in bot mode. Maybe also a Long Haul and a Scavenger, because are cheap and I appreciate engineering of NBK and JJ that covers a lot of his treads tracks section.

 

My nbk improved substantially with just tightening the ratchets. You have to have the guns attached to the hips/ crotch in combined mode. They help hold everything together.

 

Yeah. I bought one from someone on here earlier this week, and the first thing I did was tighten some of the screws. He stands a lot better, but I'm still going to mod the heck out of him.

So, for those who has take apart their NBK, can anyone tell me how to take apart NBK mixmaster's torso? I cannot figure out how to remove the drum, and i need it to be removed to access the rest of the screws.

 

I know the drum on mine came out easily out of the box. Think the pegs holding the back part with the combiner port was loose, so it would split and didn't hold together well, so I had to glue it together.

You can try slowly prying open that back part with a small screwdriver, see if it budges.
