It’s unfortunate that this is the last episode to air for a while. Nothing was particularly wrong with it, though Negan and Lydia felt a little rushed. I liked that Negan was pushing her buttons like he knows so well how to do, to get her to properly grieve so she wouldn’t slip away from the group. It’s also a shame we didn’t see Negan get “in” with the survivors. In fact it feels like there was about 30 minutes missing between last week and this week. Beta just pulls up on Alexandria and they somehow knew he was coming. They suddenly have this rendezvous at the Tower. Negan is suddenly in with the group. I dunno. Jules is still cute though. Wish I was Luke. In a non-Whisperer world anyway.
Please, someone needs to kill Judith. I can't take it much more. Also, is that a new TV only character shown in the extended trailer from Talking Dead? What the hell was that?
No Judith is possibly the best character on the show right now. I don’t give a fuck about anyone except Daryl, Judith and Neegan. Everyone else needs to fuck off an die especially the new crew, the musician’s gang. Even mopey Carol needs to go. This is a directionless mess.
If Judith dies it’ll be a decision that makes the Negan cliffhanger and Carl’s death look like positive changes compared to the utter shitshow that a decision of such stupidity would be. Daryl, Negan, and Judith will likely see it through to the end. Jerry and his family too. Carol I have some questions about, though her and Daryl’s relationship is now the backbone of the show with Michonne and Rick gone. Michonne’s departure complicates things since she was the comics Andrea of the show, meaning the only person whose death could possibly fill the slot of her death would be Carol. She just decided she wants to live after clearly being borderline suicidal all season. I could see her being the last major death of the main series. The last three main deaths of the comics were Andrea, Dwight, and Rick. In the show, their counterparts as far as roles go are Michonne, Daryl and Aaron, and.. well, Daryl too. Maybe Aaron will go off the deep end and Daryl will kill him to save Pamela. And then Daryl will be killed by Sebastian, provided the Commonwealth story doesn’t play out over in the Rick trilogy which you’d think it kinda has to. While it won’t happen, I’d love for the end of the main series to be a grown Judith and a teen RJ reuniting with an elderly Rick and Michonne. And then we get the epilogue where Judith tells her son the story of Rick Grimes, her uncle Daryl, her aunt Carol. And we see people across the various TV shows enjoying their happily ever after.
I like some of your ideas adjusting things that happened in the comic to the show. But we have to remember a couple of things; 1 - We currently don't know where the Commonwealth is? Is it in the Main Show, Fear the Walking Dead, World Beyond or the Rick Trilogy? 2 - Children age and physically mature in real life quicker than they do on the shows - R.J. and Judith won't stay 8 and 5 (or whatever age he is) forever. 3 - Couldn't a character leave on a quest to take R.J. and Judith back to their parents, after getting some form of sign that they're both still alive. The person mentioned in the comic spoiler below would be perfect, and would explain what is mentioned in the spoiler. 4 - In the comics Spoiler Negan settles into a cabin in the woods and has no (presumed) interaction with the community for a while, if at all.
Okay, so news. 1. The season 10 finale will air on Sunday October 4th. Followed by the premiere of World Beyond. 2. Season 10 has been extended by an extra six episodes. No word on what they’ll be about, but these six will air in spring 2021. 3. Season 11 will come in fall 2021. 4. Also, FTWD will feature several time skips and be something of an anthology that focuses on a few characters at a time. If you like the Gimple approach of seeing your favorite characters only once every four weeks, you’re good to go in Season 6.
season 10 should just end, then make s11 6 episode spring 2021, then do s12 in fall 2021. I lost interest in FWTD. haven’t watched the last two seasons I think.
The implication I’m getting is that the extra six episodes are literally “extra”, and Oct 4 is the end of the Season 10 story with Beta and all. There’s no details like I said but maybe this is testing the waters for the other anthology movies they plan on doing? Like they said they plan on doing movies with new and old characters, some who have already died. With FTWD doing anthology stuff maybe they’re doing anthology too? Maybe this is how we get Here’s Negan?
I thought putting morgan there would increase my interest but no such luck. I cant believe hes already done 2 seasons there. Time flies. I have it saved on hulu. Maybe someday
It was set in the future, and there was definitely a semblance of pre-outbreak civilisation again. It basically ended with Carl reading a story to his kid. Almost like a nod to the theory that the whole comic was actually Carl reading the story of it all to someone.
Really loved that ending and that Carl succeeded in helping bring about the salvation of civilization that Rick pioneered. Too bad Gimple wanted a ratings trap and killed Carl.
I wasnt strictly opposed to the idea on the grounds Chandler wanted to move on(wasnt true iirc) and that henry was more or less going to take his spot(and then he was piked along with enid -_- )
Agreed on all accounts. I hated Henry but I was genuinely shocked that he got killed off so quickly when it seemed like he was going to be the new Carl. I figured we’d just have to put up with him. Ironically Carl’s part in the comic story where he nearly kills those teens beating up Sophia was given to Negan this season.
Judith is the new Carl. At any rate, that news is ridiculous. I knew they would sit on the "finale" until the time when the next season would have aired. I feel like the long delay until season 11 Fall 2021, while not entirely their fault, will result in a loss of more fans. As far as the comic, there was a one off "Negan Lives" issue that shows what he was up to in that gap he was missing toward the end.
I didn't start reading The Walking Dead till about issue 18, and always read my friend's "monthly" copy, and collected the Trades, as it was cheaper than the individual issues. There was a "stealth" announcement that the Trade "Here's Negan" was being re-released with Negan Lives in it, so I'll just wait on that.
