    Good afternoon people.
Hope everyone is doing well today.
Quick question for the collective minds assembled here, have any of you owned copies of the Black Mamba Dino-Force KO Dinobots?
I’m not looking at getting a set of them but I am considering getting the Velociraptor in pink because it looks like a Dinobot version of Arcee.

    Hi all,

Would it be ok to post the Rightmove link for my house sale in here?
We're not having much luck and badly need to move soon as we have a seven month old boy in an open plan house...

    Cheers

Platonic is exactly the word Shogo Hasui used when talking about MP Sideswipe.

And, to contradict everything else I've said, I'd quite enjoy some really dumb, cartoon accurate Go-Bots.

Easily one of my top five fictional mad inventors. I've warmed up tremendously to this figure. Probably my favourite of the ER Deluxes.

    All is forgiven.

    Nice - it was excellent!!

I agree on it being unlikely to get a straight focus on A/E/C / beast wars etc. Like others have said, I think some blending of generations (and maybe - MAYBE - new non kid-line stuff?!) is likely. If nothing else, I can't see the big hitters not appearing in recognizable forms in each line. I'd guess at something like 'here's more BW characters in this one, more AEC in this one' but alongside G1 big hitters and random outstanding/redone (new hat, you say?) G1ers.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out/ties in with the fiction though. A reboot for each new start? An attempt to try and tie them together?

Also, I find it interesting that Warden's going to power rangers. I can totally see potential business reasons for it (go and build that brand up please, and we'll pay you more), but it seems like a less exciting prospect, especially being licensed rather than entirely in house.

Regarding the AEC stuff - there have certainly been a lot if Energon homages in the last line or so! :)

But seriously, I expect any AEC updates to keep their G1 personalities, while introducing guys like Demolisher, Hot Shot & Tidal Wave. It'd be pretty straightforward to do. And slightly ironic - AEC was G1 names/designs for new characters, so going the other way has a little poetry to it.

All this AEC talk, and none of us are clamouring for RiD2001 updates. Perhaps it's for the best - Sideburn's serial sexual harassment of little red sportscars wouldn't go over well these days!

What's your boggle? Construction quality? Modability?
Sleeper hit of the line, really happy with my moment of weakness cave-in when I got him in-hand, and 90% the reason I am eager for 'Streaker derived from him.

Throwing my two boab in on the Unicron Trilogy in Generations debate. I've said it before, and I'll say it again; the best way to please everyone is to please everyone. There will always be doubts that a line 'only' homaging a specific 'old continuity' will flail at sales level, so create a long-running, post-WfC line that draws from Unicron Trilogy, G1(with lashings of post '87 love) BW, Animated, JG1, RiD, original comic characters (they're already doing well at this with Impactor and Rung in Siege and Rack'n'Ruin in Cyberverse), and anything else I've forgotten. Marry this line to a long-running cartoon (ala Stars Wars Filoni -verse) and you're all set. Don't spaff your load all in one year (for example, don't put out Siren for a couple of years after Nightbeat) and you've got something that can keep the junkie completists like myself hooked. Cyberverse has proved that you can mix the big hitters in with obscurities like the Quints, Repgnus, and the aforementioned Rack'n'Ruin and it'll get lapped up.

The fact that it would appear we're getting nearly all the season 1 BW cast in Kingdon might suggest that Hasbro view things differently from I, and probably for very good reasons. Still, It's a nice thought.

Hard accept on both points, I actually can see Starscream standing next to his cronies and saying "Oh, you've taken of an Earth mode form, f**k that and these stupid f**king human scum".

I too worked in a shop, loved it when it was sensible, the human factor will always be something that appeals to some people (me) and the elderly, and we have all been stiffed on the 'that isn't what I expected' online somehow, even if my worst experience was a FNAF toy a different size than all the others.

I have them, nice build and look, cant complain when they are available so cheaply, I original envisaged them as MP stand-ins but they aren't big enough for that, they make more sense against deluxes by being a bit bigger than the proles.

    l-l-laters.

That could be Warden hitting his wishlist though, right? As a Beast Wars fan that'd be my call on the MINE! to-do front.

I’m not sure about modding but I was considering that the pink velociraptor could be modified to look like Arcee.

I assume you have the regular ones and not the colourful looking power ranger ones?
Are they a good alternative to the PotP Dinobots?

    @stevej,
Glad you're feeling somewhat better, any kind of tooth pain is always harder to ignore than anything else and having had one or two issues myself over the years I know how annoying it can be.

My feeling on MP Seeker V3 is "Whatever".

Takara lost me with the change to obsessive cartoon accuracy, increasingly silly prices and poor QC and there's little to no fun factor in handling the figures anyway so there's nothing appealing to me any more.

I'm glad there's going to be another Seeker option for people still into the line, I just hope there's no more QC issues because as the prices have risen the QC seems to have slipped and that's not on for what's supposed to be a high end line aimed at adult collectors.

    @DaftRaider,
    Have a great birthday!

Is it time to retire James Bond?

Certainly time to retire Daniel Craig, and it's not even his fault. The recent movies have been grimdark pish with the exception of Royale (it was great, gave me real hope!).

It might be true to the books and too easy to use in a screenplay, but miserable Bond can only go so far. And FFS the last movies weren't so hot for action, script, anything, from what I saw.

He's like Batman in that who plays him is almost a side issue, it's the pace and script that are more important. Bond is a cipher for whoever in the audience, and it's entirely possible to have him be a tit without it being defining. The real question's, 'Is it time to retire the average screenwriter?'

Completely fair. I'm clinging on to the MP line by the skin of my teeth as there are so few characters I now need - but yeah, it's definitely lost its shine since the Hasui-era when they managed the perfect toy/licensed vehicle/cartoon combination. There are things I like about the current figures (like the all-over paint) and things I hate (faux parts, detail-free panels, almost everything about MP Bee 2.0) so I'm looking at the figures on a case-by-case basis until I've completed the S1/S2/Movie character line-up. Hell, I might even replace MP-10 with MP-44 at some point but it would need to be a toy deco version.

I've been collecting MPs since MP-01 was released so it's hard for me to break from that. Nor do I necessary want to due to the not significant time and money so far invested. Heh, see also the MCU and 90s punk/hardcore.

Basically once I've done something for 10+ years I'm stuck. I don't like change. :-D

Yeah I definitely think we are getting ready for an all new take, they can only redo g1 so often and they are reasonably as spot on as you can get mini mps at this point, few articulation compromises but you can only pull a malibu Stacy with a new hat on so many fans.

watching beast wars back it's apparent it injected something fresh and new into the franchise which I think it needs again, whether that's a return to beasts for a couple of year, zooming all over the history like t30 did or something new entirely I'm not sure but a new gimmick and line could definitely have merit. It's interesting how gimmicks like minicons in armada picked up on the pokemon craze for instance or kreo picked up on building blind bags so I wonder if there is something (especially in the mainline) that could pick up on whats in vogue, superpowers, building toys? I guess in some ways the modulators sort of achieve that one.

With cyberververse rumoured to finish, the rooster Teeth series possibly being the main series and a movie on the cards for 2022 that may be beast wars who knows what's going to be mainline.

Superheroes as a craze reminds me of the original pitch for animated being transformers heroes and the whole thing of them having human supervillains in the series. Must admit I liked the idw idea of the outliers and an academy of bots with extra powers such as windcharger. What they did with skids, tailgate and hubcap was great.

I'm sorry I'm still not sure I'm grasping the essence of your query? If you could get your mitts on an Energon Omnicon Arcee it's possible her head might be an easy swap, OS Slash's head is a roughly 1cm³ FYI.
I'd crosspost my reply to @Loosecannon here:
Whilst also adding you might want to wait out the Studio Series '86 as at least Grimlock & Slag are slated to pop up in the line, though as yet there are no guarantees of the full team getting done.
I'm not so sure about a fresh, new take happening. Not writing off the possibility but corporations like Hasbro seem to be very much about consolidating IP when it's working rather than fixing what isn't broken. If the sales were tanking, then the New Broom appears.
I reckon the shape of the next trilogy will be very much informed by the performance or lack thereof of the Netflix series, I mean if it tanks viewing wise it might even have an impact on Kingdom.

Mucking about with Micromasters. Wish I hadn't lost so many of the old accessories (still have the missile for Ironworks' old base, but lost the launcher)! :(
