Crap. I bought a used copy from the first run that didn't come with the alternate face. I waited more than a year for the reissue but I didn't want to miss out. Paid a late tax too. I wonder if DX-9 would sell the faces separately.

can’t find it on youtube, how do you get the waist to tab in? i tried but i’m trying not to force it?


Edit: Never mind, i think i just needed to slide the waist piece up to cover the gap. let me know if i’m wrong though.

 

There’s actually a very small/short sliding joint inside his torso to bring that the rest of the way down onto the peg. It’s been a while but I don’t remember exactly which pet you need to push down on to engage it. If you can’t find it give me a shout and I’ll try to send you a pic of the spot.

If memory serves me, I think the way I always did it was to put my thumb under his crotch and my fingers on his left and right shoulder (have to move the floating khaki pieces up and out of the way, don’t push on those) and squeeze together. The whole thing should slide down that last few millimeters into place.

 

yeah i did that finally, it just didn't move much at first so i didn't notice it getting smaller. thanks again! now do i go toy or shoulder for the con symbol.... 

 

All these pics of vanilla Gewalt are making me regret putting the toyhax set on mine. Sorely tempted to remove them now, but I know I'll only end up regretting that if I do.

Well? Was he worth waiting a year? Yes and no. I hate the hands and the shoulders are dogshit. Looks legit, though.

 

500 days since I PO-ed. As good as reviews say: beefy, chunky, heft. Strong joints, things tab well. Ball jointed wrist seem to swivel easily on a hand holding a weapon but easy to drip a drop of floor polish to remedy. I can now understand the criticism of the tank mode, from the top it looks like a box (square, not rectangle) with a turret, but from an angled view, it doesn't really matter to me. The jet mode is far more effective, though the rear wing flaps pop off easy at the hinge (not at the ball joint) if mishandled during transformation.

Very satisfied, not seeing the need for replacement from Fans Toys unless there is a very attractive offer (haha).

 

Hi, may I ask. If anyone got 2 left side chest piece cos I got 2 right chest instead. Perhaps we can exchange. I’ve email DX9 but they replied back saying that they sold out and no longer have a replacement piece.

 

I think you're better off returning the figure and get your money back. Or maybe you can try look for a 3d printing service and try to get some advice.

 

I ordered a Gewalt last month when I saw it was available for $95 at ShowZ and figured why not? Today it arrived and I must say it feels like a steal at that price. I mean, these days you're paying $100 for Fans Toys minibots. It's so huge and I think all 3 modes work pretty well. Transformation is easily executed and all joints are nice and tight. The only small problem I have with it is the hip articulation gets a bit restricted for more dynamic poses as there is too much interference between parts in the hip area. I did get a QC issue where both hands got the same base thumb joint, so one of them can't bend forward. I remedied that by dremeling out some material in the wrong thumb joint. Not great but not a big deal either.

I think despite being a pretty old figure at this point, Gewalt is a perfectly good figure for an MP collection. I'd say due to it's size and solidity, it's worth the original asking price ($130-ish?). At $95 it's pretty much a no-brainer for me.
