BEGAN TODAY, 48 HOUR EARLY BIRD EXTRAS

Apologies if a thread exists, i tried searching for it. Not strictly transformers but the minis are modeled after several pipular characters.

    Core Clash

It looks like a very interesting game, reminds me of warhammer or other small skirmish games.

Saw this somewhere before. Not sure if it was on tfw2005 or not. Seems very expensive for what it is and the stretch goals could be better

Thanks for that, guess I should have searched for more than titles.

Mods, can you combine the threads and possibly include the name in the title?

Your thread title sounds better :)

I am going to go with the deluxe pledge. It does save on the shields and 10 USD off the trio pack.

Going to ask if they are going to be in resin and I hope they are thick resin. Thin resin can be brittle but thick resin should be okay as these are mech sculpts.

Haven't been buying 3P transformers in ages as I learnt that it is frustrating anticipating whether a whole cast will be made consistently with the same engineering and by the same 3P/Hastak company. I was following Maketoys Cross Dimension until the plug was pulled from them.

Kickstarter board games allow me to get the whole universe of characters and unit all in one go plus they have board game stats and an environment to do battle on. This game will be the perfect send off to end my Transformers collecting :)

It beats paying 100 USD for one 3P action figure, I could pay 10 USD for one miniature.

I’m looking forward to us playing this. Now that I’m into this type of thing. Board game skirmish gimmick type deal.

also looking forward to you painting them. Imo that’s just gonna bring more imagination and creativity to the game.

It is like a more advanced version of this game. by the way, the price is high probably due to resin. But mecha miniatures usually aren't 1-2 USD each, they are at least 5-10 USD each.

The core box already has 24 pieces including terrain. The deluxe pledge also comes with the shields so it does save a fair bit and it also shows their dedication to the 3D aspect.

I backed now because of the early bird, but will want to see more to keep my pledge. Have real concerns about the actual game (and the fact that it is 1st time publisher doesn't help), and not interested in just the minis.

The miniatures look great and i suspect will be the main selling point. Hope they proofread the rules more though, as a few errors in the preview.

It looks like the same game designer created Unrecorded Seige (KS: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1984279110/unrecorded-siege ).

Looking at the comments for it:
    • the rulebook was a mess with parts making no sense, looks like they didn't check it properly and just sent it out. It's being re-worked.
    • The big centerpiece 3d model castle was missing from the deliveries to customers, and still isn't close to finished.
    • Some of the stretch goal content (game scenarios and cards) was dropped\changed, but backers didn't know until receiving it.
    • They are fairly active and honest with updates and responses to comments.
    • They were ready to ship end of Nov 19 vs planned date of August 19, so pretty good for a KS project.
    • The actual product looks good.
So ups and downs...the rules is the huge one though, as what use is a heap of fancy cards and counters with rules that don't work?

I guess this Core Clash has the benefit of being a dice and miniatures game, and should be a bit less complex.

Ya, i wonder about the gameplay a little aswell but that can be fixed with rules errata and house rules.

The first lot of stretch goals got unlocked faster than I had thought.

Now I expect one stretch goal per day. They will probably be preparing new stretch goals for this 30 day campaign. The later ones will definitely have wider gaps as this is a high priced game.

I don't know how much it would cost per miniature for resin material, but I wonder if they would switch to PVC for the regular robots if they reach 2000 copies. However, they will then need to bump up the contents with more miniatures to justify the original price. They do have a co-op mode, more robots and grunt robots planned.

The odd thing is that resin doesn't provide economies of scale so more resin miniatures as stretch goals would mean they are just eating the cost. Maybe the grunt bots will be in PVC due to their print numbers. They may also need another set of magnets to track their individual identity.

At the moment I expect them to finish between 150k to 200k.

Man, I can't wait to play as "optimoose prim" or "megaton". Maybe they'll even have "boomble bee". I always find these projects funny. Like, you can't use the designs or names. Just make an original idea. This just looks like its trying too hard to be TF without being TF. either get the license or move away from it.

Let's just call them fanmade TFs. So TF compatible designs.

With the shutdown of KO chinese gundam companies, some are now opting to do fanmade Gundam like designs.

Colour schemes define characters, so as long as the colour schemes are different, they should be fine.

That Centaur mech in the stretch goals clearly isn't TF inspired.

I swear, if that continuity had gone on any longer every character would've turned out to be Shockwave.

New CO-OP mode has been added and new stretch goals for CO-OP. It has a figure that looks like Shockwave and some drones.

For what it’s worth, the Centaur wings seem to be... heavily inspired by the Wing Gundam Zero Custom... ;)
