That's why I think that alleged butt flap is on a hinge (seen in the rear view CAD) to lift up out of the way, so as not to impede movement of more dramatic poses. This thing has to be super poseable, and TT know it.

 

I'm all for them as long as they at least don't horribly detriment the fluidity of everything in articulation and transformation, while giving a more accurate look.

Yep, thought so. MP-11 is about 4 heads thick if you're kind and dont include the fins on the calves. Exactly what this looks to be. So this is no thicker and sure as hell cleans up nicer. With the seductive curve of the thighs and calves, and those big sexy boots, he looks well balanced rather than back heavy. Good enough for me.

@Reygn - I love how they've captured, perhaps exaggerated slightly, the curves and depth of the crotch, chest and canopy shapes. Masterclass in observation and bringing 2d images into the 3d world, imho. I wouldn't expect anything less from TT. You've made him look like a cardboard cutout!  

I admit I was thrown by the pylons position when I first saw the side profile, but sure enough it's pretty much supposed to be there. A little bit more forwards overlapping the head slightly would be arguably more reference model accurate, but I 100% see how putting them back there will help with posing and viewing from side angles. Would be neat if they could slide for preference but I'm good if they dont.

He looks just as I would imagine him to be, absolutely stunning, great proportions and great sculpting

from the looks of it the back looks like it transforms similarly to maketoys meteor and the chunky side view doesn’t bother me in the slightest.

I’m just interested as to how they’re gonna go about the ab crunch

I'm actually kinda surprised we haven't seen Waspinator yet. Would LOVE to see a Takara Superion though. Would probably be the best of both worlds, Zeta and Fans Toys, metaphorically.

This. While Bee has his problems, that faux chest exudes so much of his cartoon aesthetic almost to a T, and that alone is a reason why I still keep him around, problems aside, and sold my fucked up MP-21 Bee to a friend of mine, just for the sake of getting it out of the house.

Love how the cartoon accurate flared boots w/integrated feet of the newer MP figures gives them a greater sense of weight! Can almost hear and feel these multi-ton bots stomping around my shelves!

So many complaints about *another* re-do, but just like the other re-dos this Starscream captures the character so perfectly that everything that's come before feels like stand-ins, like we've never really had Starscream till now!

 

The thing about the depth of the backpack is that while it's really consistent with most other MPs, having the wings at the back edge gives the arms so much clearance. Cannot wait to pose the hell out of this beauty!
