Some will just double down hard and refuse to admit they were wrong, using the defense that it is their subjective opinion while presenting it as objective fact, others will be happy to be proven wrong

Hey bud. I really wanted to watch it and support your channel, but I noticed the thumbnail said "Spoilers". How spoilery is it?

I've read and watched a few reviews, and I'm honestly a bit surprised at the mostly positive reception this show seems to be getting. I was totally expecting it to be viewed as a slightly better Combiner Wars. I've heard a couple people say they think it's among the better Transformers stories (at least in recent years). Even if they're over-hyping it because of the excitement at having seen it early, that's much higher praise than I expected to hear anyone give it.

That being said, I think I'll still wait until I see more reviews. I especially want to see reviews from casual fans and non-fan reviewers who have a bit more knowledge of storytelling and filmmaking. While I do like hearing reviews from Transformers fans, we can be biased towards the brand we love. G1 stuff especially tends to get a pass. Not to mention early reviews can be influenced by the excitement and novelty of getting to see it early. So I'm still a bit skeptical. But it's good to hear people seem to be liking it.

Honestly, hearing these good reviews makes me wish I was more excited by the trailers. I've tried and tried to get into them, and I just don't dig them at all. I can't get into the tone or the visual style or the voice acting. But if I keep seeing positive reviews, I might give it a chance.

Oh, I agree. I wasn't trying to say he blindly praises every aspect of everything he reviews or that he ignores flaws...I also think he's a very fair reviewer. I'm just saying that he tends to err on the side of giving something a positive review (at least, based on his videos I've seen...I'll admit I haven't seen every one). Occasionally he'll not recommended a figure (especially if it's a derivative repaint or something like that), but I rarely see him bash a toy or call it terrible.

I mainly brought that up because Snokoan seemed worried that he was going to give it a bad review (at least that's how I interpreted his post). I was pointing out that it seems sort of unlikely that he'd hate it or bash it, or something like that. If he gave the Last Knight a positive review (which is despised by a huge portion of the fanbase), I can't see him thinking Siege is awful or something.

In the middle he spoils some bits but not too much

I’ve been reading/watching a bunch of reviews the main negatives have been that they’re not a lot of transformations and some of the animation is a bit clunky but other than that everyone was saying that the story, the animation/action scenes, and the characters are great! This looks like this is going to be the best transformers show ever

I'm on my second read review.
The first guy seems to think this is a direct prequel to G1 and is calling out the inconsistencies with the story, so I stopped reading because he's clearly misinformed about the show.
The second review's main criticisms are that the show isn't given enough time to flesh out the deeper story of what's really going on, that it gets too grim and takes itself too seriously at times, and the character models are too stiff due to being CAD models of the toys.
Luckily, so far, the show's highlights is the character development so that's good.

    Edit: Third review
The show makes great use of Cybertron, lore, and the character development is a big highlight.
However, the use of the CAD models makes the chatacters feel uncanny, the voice acting feels dry, and the music as well as sound design was not as great as it could have been.

That other TF shows don't do this is exactly the reason I'm excited for this one. Again, it's not about wanting Transformers to be dark all the time. But, I've said it before. G1's movie showed us that these characters were not invincible. It was a wake up call in the theater that no other cartoon had given me before. Since then I have grown tired of the kiddie shit that seemed to have come into the series, and have been craving the deeper aspects of war. If it means someone is criticizing it for being too grim, then they can watch Animated.

Watching that last one now. It's still great to hear some positive responses.
