I'm sorry, but I could not give less of a fuck about Cliffjumper. If they cut corners on Cliffjumper to devote more time and resources to a character who actually matters, so much the better.

This kind of exemplifies a lot of my feelings right now...

I know the show comes out in four days, so there's really not much point in talking about it anymore, better to wait for it to come out, and then slam it, but I'm just so frustrated. Seeing interviews like the FJ one too, I mean, maybe this guy was a fan... maybe some part of me wants to give him the benefit of the doubt... but he WROTE the travesty that is "Combiner Wars" and "Titans Return". And I do not say this lightly, but that writing was HORSE SHIT. So basically, from the very moment it was announced he was "involved" in this show, I haven't been excited, but even just now looking at the writing credits of the other writing staff this time, we have winners like "Megas XLR" "Cyberverse" "Star Wars: Resistance"... (apologies to fans of any of those...) so I'm fully expecting dialogue along the lines of "Rescue Bots" set to cringeworthy visuals that will end up looking like cel-shaded stop motion since they're using the toy CAD data.

Anyway, back on topic, these guys trying to "name drop" characters like Cliffjumper, making it seem like we should be excited about that, I mean, if this is truly supposed to be adult-targeted, then I expect better. I expect to be shown the staff really get Transformers, I mean, maybe there will be surprises, but I would be more excited if he was casually like "yeah, we show some of Crystal City in this show, fans can expect to see the blue/white Guardian Robots" you know, something that was like oh dang, they're really going back to the lore around the last days of Cybertron.

And yeah, just from the few snipets we've heard of dialogue, the voice acting sounds very fan-made. At least in the Japanese show, they got the original G1 cast (mostly) to reprise their roles, and those unavailable or dead, they got actors who have done the different characters in other shows recently, so it will probably feel "authentic". Heck, I may end up just watching it in Japanese with English subs just so it will be some form of bearable.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but they already had a bunch of dumb ass dialogue about the "Allspark" in one of the trailers. Plus, Jetfire being a 'Con in this retcons his Sunbow origin--he was an unaffiliated scientist tricked into becoming a 'Con on Earth, only to end up joining the Autobots.

Nice! There seems to be a lot of positive feeling towards this. Predictably, the voice acting and dialogue have gotten some flack. Hopefully, the Japanese dub is better. Animation seems to be praised for the most part. I can’t wait to eat my own words!

As someone who was very disappointed with the Prime Wars trilogy, and I was quite skeptical about this show, I was very happy with how this show turned out. Like do I have a bunch of nitpicks? Yes. But I'm happy we finally have a show that treats the Transformers like an epic sci-fi saga with the reverence it deserves.

Since Rooster Teeth came on as a producing partner, I hope they positively influenced how immersive the show feels. And since it is immersive, I felt like the performances of the Cybertronians looked and "felt" better. And the actors I believe were given far better voice direction this time around because I feel like they were actually able to act and find the drama of the story rather than in Prime Wars where it didn't even feel like characters were talking to each other at all. It just came off very choppy, stiff, and wooden. At times, Prime Wars reminded me a lot of the Unicron Trilogy, and not in a good way.

Is it perfect? Iconic? No but I think they improved upon what came before.

Not indicative of it's overall objective quality. Lots of terrible content has positive reviews.

Its true, a recent example is the game ghost of tsushima, lots of gamers love it but part of the media hates it because theyre trying to push an agenda that an American developer shouldnt make japanese stuff.
Shows how out of touch some journalist are, considering theyre supposed to be the peoples voice

Not to say that War for Cybertron is social commentary on what's going in the country right now, but the show does basically define classism and racism between Autobots and Decepticons in the show. #JustSaying

Outstanding. I was getting worried about that, but to see first reviews being positive I am excited.

One review I would agree with you, but a collection of reviews begins to indicate a level of good quality in what is arguably a subjective thing.

Let’s keep the chewing at the edges “agenda” talk as a stand in for politics to a zero. Lest this forum becomes a unwanted hotbed of political discussion as opposed to a refuge from such things:) .

Agreed, I think a better way to look at is on average is it getting good reviews and (at least so far) it is.
