If this does happen, Microsoft could get alot of big name franchises under their belt. I am not against the idea.
It's definitely better than EA, Activision or 2K getting the games and licenses.

Agreed. It can even make them rivals with Sony in terms of having big name comic characters under their belt which can lead into interesting competition.

Plus they will have Mortal Kombat (even if they have Killer Instict.)
However Microsoft is a company who allows their games on other platforms.

Right so for those who own Microsoft and/or Steam will still get to play them.

    Here's the showcase!

Not as good as the Playstation showcase, but it was still pretty alright.

I liked it more than the PS showcase. Everything is on game pass. So it’s cheaper to go with that over buying multiple launch titles. It’s nice to see more games receiving free updates. Unlike GTA V on PS5. Halo Infinite is more interesting over the other Sony first party launch titles. Fable reboot seems promising.

I did wish they brought back some older and classic franchises, everyone was expecting Banjo-Kazooie, but I am happy we are getting new experiences.
I respect Microsoft more than Nintendo and Sony, because they like creating games everyone can experience and respect all video game developers, regardless of console or platform.

I will be getting an Xbox Series X when it comes out, now with that out of the way if I had to be honest this showcase did nothing to win back the market share they once had with 360 and lost it with Xbox One. Microsoft needs to open the checkbook again and start aquiring top tier studios, I am tired of watching an hour presser and feeling that I wasted my time.

Xbox One S, Xbox Series S, this is getting confusing. Can we expect an inevitable Xbox Series E down the road, since they cant really call it Xbox Series X X.

That's a big grill on top/side. Should of made it white imo.

Get two of em and make like it's speakers lol.

And the next gen after. Series 2X, Series X2, or following the pattern, wth naming lol.

    Xbox Naming Patterns
    • Xbox Original - Short for "Direct X" and named after it.
    • Xbox 360 - Named that way cause it's all around you.
    • Xbox One - All in one media package.
    • Xbox Series X - References the multiple series of Xboxs?

I really wish they had announced the Series S earlier because I think it’s a hell of a deal. The specs are perfectly acceptable in my opinion, and I still get all of the Microsoft exclusives at a reasonable entry point. Like I said before, this will be the first console generation where I buy both a PlayStation and an Xbox (hell I might even buy a Switch down the line for mobile gaming considering I’ve been playing on my Vita mostly this year). This really makes the decision easy because I can get a full price PlayStation and dip my toes into the Xbox landscape as well and get access to Gamepass. Plus, the backwards compatibility offers value to me because I’ve never owned an Xbox before, and I’m not much of a PC gamer, so a lot of their old exclusives are entirely new to me.

I don’t know why they didn’t lead with this at their July conference though. I doubt the digital only PS5 will be in the $300 price range, and the Xbox lacks exclusive launch titles. A nice entry level product like that could really give Microsoft a nice leg up given the way the economy has been due to COVID. It’s almost too late to start an effective marketing push for this.

So what sets this apart from the Series X asides from being cheaper?
