The proportions do look better on Sentinel's, but man I just can't get over the sea of red. I really liked the pop of the silver bits on the Armor Plus. I like the darker hue of the Armor Plus as well, but I understand the cherry red of Sentinel.

    $140!?

Wow, at that price, I’m thinking at best you get the 5 hero’s.

The villains were such great designs too.

Asking for a friend here, has anyone used those replacement hip / thigh joints for their Armor plus figures? Have they been holding up?

Yeah, I've replaced almost all of mine, and they are holding up (no pun intended) very well. In fact, I had planned to send the last four in to get replaced back in January but then the outbreak happened so I won't be sending those in for quite some time. My biggest fear is that the new Warlords will someday need replacements, but for now they are standing unassisted and are stable. Just to stay on the safe side, all my Ronin's except Ryo are still on Act 4 Tamashii stands though they really don't need them.

It's here, and this thing is pointy. Also the calf armor slide around quite a bit (magnets, how do they work), but overall I think it captures the anime pretty well. One down, hopefully 10 more to go (at least).

I cracked my Ryo open today. This is my first sentinel product

first impressions... this feels like a higher end figuart with removable armor. This is a good thing, seems to have good articulation. Good build feel. I was expecting it to be overly fragile. While it is light, it doesn’t feel cheap. I feel like it could be cheaper if Bandai made it, as I understand sentinel has less volume

my biggest complaint is the paint, or lack thereof. I would have liked silver spikes

Been messing with Ryo with the past few days and I will echo that he feels like a figuarts with removable armor, but he doesn't feel worth the price tag. At $70-$80 I'd be more inclined to recommend this figure, but at around $130 - $140 not so much. On the bright side his paint job is super clean with all of the red and most of the white surfaces being painted. His face sculpt is superb in person and the figures does look like he stepped right out of the anime. Joints on my copy are good except the lateral movement of the hips needs some floor polish as he likes to do the splits more often than I'd like. Also I'd like to say that the shin armor sucks balls. I knew this magnet idea was a bad idea. They come off as soon as you try to pose the legs even with gentle pressure. They the shin armor doesn't come up if you shake it, but pose the legs and it will fly off occasion. While the armor plus had a lot of diecast and nice metallic paint, I think the Sentinel figure is easier to pose and I think you can get more range out of some of the joints. The sentinel one also has the benefit of not having the removable knee caps which were just a pain on the armor plus. I also wish it came with a neutral face with the faceguard on.

Bottom line: This guy is kind of a mixed bag, mostly positive, but I do not feel compelled to get the rest of the line. Usually, when you buy one of those figures that are easily repaintable / re-moldable they're usually really good toys and it compels you to buy the rest, well......I'm not feeling it here with Ryo. Now with Sage if ditch the damn magnets on the shin armor I might be back on.

    FLARE UP NOW!!!!!!

Hopefully any rereleases down the line ditch the shin armor magnets in favor of something more secure and hopefully tighten the hips. I love the look of this figure and years back I would've preordered it on the spot. Right now I think I'll be passing.

I LOVE the anime but these days I collect less. This figure seems like it's 80% there but kind of like a work in progress.

Man, it's really close. I can see that Sentinel wanted to preserve the look of the unarmored form, but I don't think the sacrifice was worth it. Ditch the magnets Sentinel they don't work well!

s, the painted silver spikes) that make the difference, but the Sentinel figure looks SO good to me.

This feels like a HUGE wiff on Sentinel's part. If I were getting these I would probably go for a relaxed group shot of the crew with helmets on, but that loses something if they're all with screaming/non-neutral (or close to neutral) faces. For the price, they could have had another face in there for that purpose.

Still is a really awesome figure though, and one I wish I could afford. But loving seeing all these shots of people who have this guy already!

I added some floor polish to Ryo's hips and the plastic they used there has taken the floor polish well and now there's zero flop.

It's felt like an eternity since the last update, but today we finally got some new proto pictures! And, OMG, check out the bonus feature! Yep, we are getting Kayura along with this! I hope we also get the staff of the Ancient as well... 113021184_10158504911699851_3393982881001044853_o.jpg 116042016_10158504911769851_6045453205693734523_o.jpg 116076647_10158504911724851_4777541674470651313_o.jpg

At first I thought it was Sentinel who was doing Kayura... if that was the case, consider her 100% bought.

On the flipside, even if it's Lutoys, it's cool that they're considering Kayura as well, but doing just a head-swap with Shuten/Anubis' body just doesn't feel right. :)

Unless they give Shuten/Anubis a feminine body...

I’m struggling on this one honestly. The proto is currently more early series Anubis, who was menacing. In the final season when he put the armor back on, he was similar in size to Kayura, so they could get away with it if they designed it that way. Not sure which I’d prefer.

Oh yeah, I know, give me a 2-pack and a slightly cheaper price than 2 individuals due to LK’s smaller stature.

Yes, this is from LuToys, same company that did Cale and Sekhmet. Sekhmet was released way back in January, did you not place an order for him? I can't believe anyone would be waiting that long for shipping...

I was in contact with an overseas retailer back in January. They were supposed to let me know when they had him in stock, then COVID hit and haven't heard from them since. Just placed an order with another retailer. Thanks.
