As a Transformers and Funko Pop collector I’m probably going to end up buying these when they come out. Would love to see them do Starscream & Soundwave as well.
I know that some people are going to disagree with me, but personally, Bumblebee\'s head looks bad and I wish that Prime\'s eyes were yellow. Like honestly, whats the point of going for a toy accurate look if your just going to ignore the head, that\'s stupid.
As someone who collects pops I\'m excited. I love how mad people are getting over a $10 vinyl figure.
I never liked Funko pops, soulless chunks that embody that old T-shirt design where movie & horror icons were all transformed into Hello Kitty. I'd be lying if I said I don't own any however. I have Pops of the MST3K 'bots, as figures of them are pretty thin on the ground, and Aggretsuko, as the styles of the figure and the source material already match pretty closely.
I only have a dozen Pops, 1/3 being Batmans, but I’ve been waiting for this. I passed on the Bayverse Prime but these are instant purchases. I would’ve preferred that Bee not have a mouth, but my Baby Groot, Rathalos and Robot Devil all have mouths so I can deal with it.
Agreed. Its kind of cool to have a line of products that literally has something for everyone. It's starting to feel like you can't be a "cool" collector unless you hate on Funko. I mean, if you aren't into that style, thats fine. But the amount of insane anger that gets spewed at them seems a bit...over the top.
I’m waiting here kids ask parents what are poppies and furbys I’m fine with funko pop transformers took them long enough to make them for This company maybe combiners, metroplex, cybertron unicron will be made into funko
20-30 years from now it's unlikely that many people will ever look back at 2011-2020 and think "man, I really wish I had spent a bunch of money on those funko pop figures that every casual fan filled up their faux wood shelves with." I worked in a "cool" type of office at a company in the video game industry for ~5 years, and these things had a very predictable cycle with my co-workers: buy in mass > buy even more > build a wall of them to display in your cube/office > keep buying even more for random licensed properties they remember kinda liking in 1988 > decide to sell them when they realize they take up too much space and are less cool than the original toys anyway > struggle to find a buyer, even when selling at a loss > wonder why they did that > talk shit about funko pop to any other co-workers about to fall into the abyss.
Thanks for the news. I'm surprised they are classified as "retro toys" instead of "classic toons"... I would have preferred a toon look, that said however, I'm pretty happy with these. Yes Bee's face is a little jarring but considering the lineup that's been teased I think we're going to be in for a treat. I'll buy the lot of them.
