So I'm putting my G1 Starscream up for sale that I bought from Ebay a few years ago. I'm trying to find out if I have the 1984 hasbro or takara version? The stamp is on the outside of the left leg but doesn't say hasbro although it says takara. Does this mean mine is a Takara? Well here are some pictures.

It could possibly be a pre-transformers one with Decepticon symbols retroactively put on it. It was manufactured in 1983, The year before Transformers existed. I could be wrong though.

    Ebay:
It could be an early prerub. I believe they used Takara's leftover stock before they made the copyright change. I recommend using Freds Workshop to identify the parts.

I see, I went to the website and I don't have the first clue of what I'm looking for. If it is a early prerub does that mean it's not worth as much?

It's a pre-rub. Pre-rubs came with the Takara-only stamp. The later rub-sign figures came with the Hasbro/Takara stamp. The pre-rubs tend to be worth a little more since they're earlier releases.
