lol but you’ll waste plenty of time reiterating the same reasons why you don’t like the game   We get it, you think Abby is a terrible sociopath character. We’re past the point of meaningful discussion here. Just accept not everyone hates the same things about the game that you do. Go over to r/TLOU2 if you want some validation over trashing the game and Druckman.

Cool you’re not buying it, I got that the past 20 other times you said that. But to beat a dead horse. I’m not forcing you to buy it. Read my freakin posts.

you keep on replying to me like I’m water boarding you to buy the game. Where I specifically say I’m not telling you to buy the game. Don’t buy it, move on.

If you go back a few pages when people we’re getting on you for not buying it I agreed with you and said that you were right about Abby character not being anything amazing. Despite you not owning the game.

If you guys don’t like the game, then that’s totally cool, but please don’t harass the creators, writers, actors, etc. and call it trash. It’s really toxic. If you don’t like it, let other people enjoy it and move on. This hate is getting really obsessive, and I’d really just like to have a conversation on here with someone that doesn’t end with “this character is a Mary Sue!”, or “you can’t force me to buy the game I’m not wasting my hard earned money on it!“.

Now, does anyone want to have a civil discussion about the game? :)

I am once again thinking about how perfect this game is. Genuinely brilliant writing. I love how the game challenges the viewer, not many games do that in the way this game does. I’ve never been as emotionally attached to any game as much as I am with Part II. I wasn’t expecting it to be better than Part I, but I think I may prefer Part II

Hi everyone, I’ve just deleted a number of off-topic posts.

Let’s keep it friendly in here please. At the end of the day this is just a game - a controversial one, sure, but certainly not anything that justifies people being at each other’s throats. :)

You are going to have asshole fans everywhere. You can’t stop that. It is rude for those who did that.

True, but it was implied that we were somehow at fault for any harassment the developers and actors got. If not, why tell us how we should not be doing that? It's just an attempt to shutdown anyone's ability to criticize it or post funny memes about the game.

For example, the Seraphites are a classic example of terrible world building. It's only been 25 years since the outbreak, right? So how can the Seraphites have this society with a distinct culture and rules and every single person, no matter if they're an adult or a child, acts as if they were born and raised in this culture?

Not to mention the fact that the way Lev talks about their Prophet implies that she lived and died a really long time ago, rather than two decades at best. There just hasn't been enough time for the culture to so radically shift from a hippie luddite religion to one that's Children of the Corn on steroids. It wouldn't change so quickly, especially when most of the adults would personally remember the Prophet and her teachings. You could say that maybe they killed everyone who thought that way, but how did Lev and Yara find out that the religion wasn't originally like that? Did someone tell them? Did they read their holy text? If they read the text, why would the elders keep the text intact if it went directly against their teachings?

I’m not trying to be rude when I say this, but I just don’t understand why something that minimal would really bother you guys. They don’t really have to explain every detail of how everything came to be in my opinion.

The way I see it, 25 years after an outbreak in a post apocalyptic world, you’re gonna run across a few weird groups. Before the outbreak, the seraphites were probably a small cult that expanded and grew thanks to the lack of control. That’s just the way I see it though, it’s unimportant to me

Umm I was never pointing fingers at you for any of the fandom giving threats stuff. If you thought I was then sorry. I’m just trying to have conversation. I also never said shut down the memes. All I asked for was spoiler tags before the game came out. Which is pretty reasonable.

as of the scars stuff ya it makes no sense within the time frame. I like the idea of a crazy cult but in a timeline it was to soon. But then again we have crazy people out there that are flat earth and anti vax believers. Lol

You just admitted you couldn't give less of a shit about the worldbuilding in a game you insist is a masterpiece more or less.

When freaking Doom 2016 gave more of a damn about building up the lore and that's a game all about running around shooting undead demons in the face and basically ignoring the usual forced exposition you'd find in games.

It's terrible world building. I love world building, to the point where it's one of my favorite aspects of creative works. I enjoy TES and Dark Souls in large part because of how creative the world building is.

I think it’s good world building? I’m just saying the origins don’t need to be known for everything in the game.
Idk much about those so I can’t really comment. If you didn’t like the seraphites then that’s cool, I guess I just don’t really care too much about how every part of the game came to be. I kind of prefer when there’s less known about different groups bc it keeps it sort of mysterious. Which I think works for the seraphites really well. That’s just me though.

Neither of those tell you everything. In fact, Dark Souls practically runs on the concept of minimal information. The problem isn't with not understanding it, but the fact that the information we do have is self-contradictory and doesn't work realistically. There's just too much of a change in too short of a time. The group would have made more sense five to ten decades later than what we got.

Idk I just don’t really understand that view of it I guess. I just don’t really care to think about it that in depth. Not saying you’re wrong, I just don’t feel the same way.

I don’t remember if a timeline was established for the Seraphite movement, but I like to think that they pre-dated the Cordyceps outbreak, possibly by decades. Cults have existed even under pre-apocalyptic scenarios. You could argue that they became the murderous zealots portrayed in TLOU2 after civilization fell apart.
