MAn oh man, I hope we get some Selects versions of some of the Earthrise figures in tasty Diaclone decos.
Diaclone 4WD Hilux restoration Last week i asked about this guy and the hood sticker. Overall, nice figure, decent shape, good chrome, bad applied stickers, but nothing broken Removed the stickers with a hair drier, removed old glue with goo gone, cleaned a reaplied with a drop of white glue for each sticker (and carefuly aplied to the windows tips). Retouched the chrome with Molotow pen Pictured alongside IGA Trailbreaker (with custom stickers), a Police Countach, as well drivers from Diakron Multiforce Accesories are IGA, missiles dont fit on the backpack, but the others with no problems. Ill get eventually replacement for these, as well Toyhax repros for the missing stickers Full album here: Dr Napo Robot World
A few of my choice Diaclone and Micro-change bits. I'm a bit hodge podge collector really, I just want the toy and if that means I have to go MIB I will, not bothered if I get Diakron, Diaclone, Diatron, Micro-change, Kronoform, Converters, GIG Trasformer, E-Hobby, reissue, custom, KO, Estrala, or if I have to lie, cheat, steal (translation; work more, sell non robot items). I just wants toys. Minibot cars Red Skids signed by Kohjin Ohno. Diakron, Gig, it's all welcome. eHobby, customs, KO. Note the genuine Buggy from Diaclone Magnus Various Micro-change types Far too crowded Diaclone shelf. Diaclone boxes and Great Robot Base... or Il Grande as he was known in Italy.
Takara Diaclone Car Robot No.7 Fairlady Z 280Z - aka "Blue Bluestreak" (1983). 20 years I've been after this, and finally bought it for myself for my 40th birthday this year. I'd never seen it in person, and never thought I'd ever own it. A very fortuitous -and happy- purchase! All the best Maz
are the blues actually as mismatched in person? I know that sometimes pops out more in photography. regardless, it's lovely to see a real one in the hands of someone we all know will appreciate it!
I've owned 4 of them over the years (kept upgrading), and even the last two I had, which were pretty mint had the mismatched plastic. @Maz - Congrats. Took me forever to get my first one as well, to this day, it still looks just as special as when I got it. Kinda weird, since none of the other alt non-TF colors have the same effect. Don't get me wrong they look good, but there is something about the blue fairlady. I think it's because I saw it on so much TF merch back in the day (coloring books, stickers, etc) that's it's almost nostalgic, even though I never owned one as a kid.
Thank you! I actually believe 99.9% of the Fairladies out there - mint or not - are discoloured, hence the visible pronounced mismatch of blues. I don;t think it was ever identical blue, but certainly should be closer. It's the same thing that happens to Thundercracker plastic (less so), Diaclone Mixmaster/Hook, Powered COnvoy etc. And as a result the plastic becomes more brittle and liable to shatter. When the launcher was put on the head of my Fairlady, one small piece of the ear pinged off, a shame, but I reckon it could have been worse. This specimen is completely unused IMO. The hood sticker and chrome on the rear windows are better than I have seen on many, many specimens, so I have no reason to believe it's anything but a natural change in the colour of the plastic that occurred at some point in its life. I think this one was simply taken out of its box and unplayed with for its lifetime. All the best Maz
Hook and Mixmaster are actually a different blue plastic. No metal flake, other than ones that have obvious sun damage, they actually don't appear to turn green.
This Mixmaster here does seem to be discolouring in a similar fashion to the Fairladies. All the best Maz
Huh, I have 5 total (three Hooks, two peg variants and one no peg, so they would be in different batches and two Mixmasters) and none of them have changed color.
Speaking of shattering, on mine the left shoulder snapped into (3) pics. Had to buy a junker Bluestreak to replace it. Then the right door connector piece broke. Glued in back on and put him back into his box never to be touched again. I wish Hasbro would really release him in this color.
WOW! amazing piece my friend! Congrats! ------------------------------------------------- Got a small package today, a Train Robo instruction booklet and a black track, Also Red Alert accesories for my Police Countach restoration Finally, gave him some reprolabels from the Red Alert set
