With the current gen and the next gen consoles coming soon...why have we not received another game in the WFC/FOC style? People obviously loved those games....

There's a new Transformers Video Game title currently in production since 2017 under a studio called Certain Affinity with reports of it being a Third Person Multiplayer Shooter. Will it be as creatively handled and undeniably unique like WFC and FOC remains as unknown as the game's marketing. However, SDCC is tomorrow so maybe they'll shed some light on it.

As for the WFC games, those were made by High Moon Studios and published under Activision with a license by Hasbro but the license expired a couple of years ago, therefore eliminating all chances we have of seeing the same team working on another Cybertron Game.

Right, I knew High Moon was out, but why couldn't another group head up a similar style game? Devastation was great for what it was. Why can we not get a 3rd person shooter like WFC for G1? Why are the G1 fans always being hosed? Lol

Well Jagex tried with the MMO Transformers Universe which wasn't completely terrible IMO but after "conflicting visions" between them and Hasbro, that project was scrapped. I believe it was High Moon that pitched WFC and got Hasbro's approval. Someone, probably the game's director Matt Tieger, had a set vision for the WFC games and Hasbro liked it enough to become a reality. It could just be that no one wants to take on the franchise as Licensed titles come with a whole headache of its own when it comes to the licensers and the licensee agreeing on certain aspects of the game. I'm sure if a hardcore fan who also just so happened to be a High profile game Dev was to get in there, we'd have this problem solved long ago as Hasbro does seem welling to license the brand to anyone with a good enough vision but it doesn't seem the case currently. I too long for an immersive G1 experience and It's bound to happen someday. Maybe Certain Affinity's Transformers Online will meet that demand.

Careful saying that around here, you might upset the Beast Wars Fans :lol

I think it has to relate with how Activision poorly treated the Transformers game brand in the past, and how their under-performance lead to Hasbro feeling hurt revenue wise. Hasbro probably feels sketchy still about investing in big budget TF games, which is why they've turned to cheap mobile games that could churn out same amount as a console game would earn in their eyes without spending millions.

But wounds heal over time, and maybe they'll reconsider with how the public treats the certain affinity game as compared to battlegrounds.

It's great to know Transformers Online by Certain Affinity is on it's way. I for one am looking to the future now. I am a bit annoyed with the fact that the servers are down across the board leaving all Transformers fans in the dust. It sucks they couldn't have had an agreement until the end of year 2020 to keep things going and make an announcement about the games then instead of so suddenly. But I believe that we will be surprised and be given a Transformers game we have all been waiting for to even build upon what High Moon Studios once had

I am more interested in a new Transformers experience, instead of another WFC game.

Oh I agree to an extent. WFC was probably the best TF game, with FOC fixing some of the issues that WFC had. However, if those two games were mashed together and had a new spin on things then I believe Transformers fans would be so happy to see a game like that. Knowing Certain Affinity's style of games, I believe we will see a great multiplayer experience
