When will online retailers other than BBTS get their allocation?

 

Trypticon made it to TRU's around where I live. But I think by the time PotP came around they were gone...right?

 

Deoends where you live. Other websites have him. I got omega from bbts but got whacked on post and customs so I looked more locally and got him.

 

Yeah, Trypticon was the most recent Titan at the time TRU went under (probably a major contributing factor to how much excess stock of Tryp there was to go around)

 

Well, they had him in stock at my local Target but he's "Transitioning" which means he's stuck on a pallet until the 26th because the shelf doesn't have a space/price sticker for him yet. To add insult to injury, I'll be gone on the 26th!

 

Purchased from Agabyss. Still showing Preorder. I am guessing smaller retailers will get this guy last  

 

You're probably at home already, but I talked someone into fishing boxes once for the rainmaker trio. I don't normally recommend dishonesty, but if you must tell them it's for a child's birthday present on Thursday. The customer service people up front are usually more helpful than the person back in toys too. Fight dirty if you must.

 

Why lie? I've just flat out asked if they can check in back. If they say "No" then I live with it. But if you're polite enough and things aren't super busy they'll usually just do it out of kindness.

 

Agreed, I think what made Trypitcon an odd ball was the G1 reissue. I'm sure many made the one or the other not both decision.

 

If the no was based on something real and/or they're busy with the line, I'm with you, but I find sometimes it's just a person being lazy. You do you, was just providing a potential solution to his problem. Can't and won't are often confused.

 

I went to both a Toy dept worker and customer service and both had the same response of "Sorry, we can't sell it" so Im just going to live with that. I wish I didn't have to but, eh, I can still preorder him. If it was doubledealer's weird date issue, I'd have maybe tried harder but with this, it makes sense why he's unavailable.

 

If they're mid reset I get why employees may be reluctant to go in back and get stuff.

That's why it doesn't hurt to ask, and it doesn't hurt if they say no. Because we don't know store-to-store or day-to-day what they're being told from management.

 

Yep. Also, the employees and who I believe is the store manager are very nice so the last thing I want to do is create a "Karen" reputation for myself.

I did it on Friday for the Spiderman Retro wave at 2 different Targets. Both times the employee was really nice and went back and got them for me.

 

Your lucky. My local Targets run themselves I think. Either no one at customer service or an hour long line to get to the desk. Whenever I looked for help on the floor, all I heard was crickets. lol The cashiers have their typical answer "I'm not sure" or "Let me call somebody", who never shows anyway.
I have both Sky & Scorpy on the way from bbts. If I happen to see them at Target I might get a second set of each.

 

I usually just go the electronics desk. Every Target I go to, there's always someone there.

 

I’m checking my target once more after work, and then I’ll just wait for bbts. My store has 2, but can’t locate them. I did get sky lynx though.

 

Just for kicks, I went to my local Target to see if I could find scorponok. I figured it was a one-in-a-million chance, but since there seemed to be sightings all over the country, and not just on the coasts, I thought there might be a small chance that I actually find him. And there he was.... two of them, but one had a badly damaged box.


Thanks for everybody giving me a heads up here. Been a heck of a week for collecting... I got the Seeker two pack, the Ironhide and Prowl 2 pack pre-ordered, I found a Siege Jetfire, and Scorponok today. Wow!

 

just to be clear is that dpci number correct? because i am unable to find it on any brickseek or the target website?
