Exclusives I'm fine with... it's the characters that they make exclusives that annoys me. Obscure repaints that dedicated fans will likely go to the effort to seek out? Fine.

Putting big name characters like Ratchet, Skywarp, etc behind the exclusivity wall however, where your options are...

• Being able to access a UK site at a specific yet undefined time to secure a limited pre-order....
• Overseas Pre-Orders that aren't always concrete...
• Scalpers

...all of which are bullshit.

I know, this smacks of entitlement, but it really sucks the fun out of the hobby at times.

On exclusives...it's a weird one. On principle I don't mind them, but the latest round has gotten out of hand a bit.

Doesn't help that lots of them are exclusives specific to stores in the US. I'll PO the Ironhide/Prowl 2 pack but not fussed about the Seekers. I also wanted the Dead Earthrise OP but seemed to have slept on that and now he's gone from ID toys.

In a way we seem to have moved so much further since 2004, in other ways though we're back where we were with shoddy Alternators availability depending on the country, skipping of latest waves etc.

 

It's totally unnecessary, they could make more money selling core characters as standard releases (which they should be anyway) in Europe alone than they ever will at Walgreens stores in the States. And why not drive traffic to Hasbro Pulse? Hasbro just want a win it seems, logic be damned.

How many Hound and Sideswipe repacks are they likely still sitting on that could have been Ratchets half the world's TF collectors wanted?

 

Can anyone with doubledealer take a pic of him next to Magnus? I've got a sneaking suspicion he's the same height and they may go that way for roddy and Galvatron.

Just out of curiosity, how tricky was the head swap on the Seekers?

 

I don't have it but I did see a video review where he was compared to Magnus and yeah they're pretty much the same size. My Doubledealer should be here tomorrow so if no one else does I'll post a pic

 

Gotta say that the "Throne Room" vibe many folks can see is clearly right there on Scorpy.
Especially as you can misuse the foot peg area of his Scorp mode cockpit to Lord it with Zarak appropriately!


Though in the set-up I'd totally forgotten about the head shelf panel inside his chest, and spent a few minutes lowering Scorps' head straight through his chest to the floor below thinking I wasn't orienting it right to sit in there before spotting it!



Also, rather Ironically, the arachnid tyrant can do a display version of "Big Mode" (full size robot noggin in one of the non-robot modes) that the originator, Fort Max, can't!

Though it doesn't quite sit well enough in the cockpit well for me to believe that was intentional.

And obviously I had to have a go at an Energon homage/Trypticon Nemesis-style transport/vehicle mode for him, and I don't think the result is too bad!


Sadly the stinger section is upside down like that so it'd be even more obviously hollow than it is in these pics to have it out as a front main cannon, and the forward shield segment only lightly slots into the stinger hinge but it does kinda tab in so it'll do for me unless/until someone concocts a better version!

Old Man Logan & Old Man Hawkeye ( I liked the comic when I read it, and the Baby Hulk would be fun to have, I've just got a lot of other stuff on order atm and it's some way down my wants list. )

Hellfire Club box set ( I think the packaging is really well done and the figures are nice but I would have preferred Mastermind instead of Pierce. Also depends on UK availability. )

I was disappointed that the Rogue/Pyro set wasn't shown but during the feed one of the Hasbro chaps showed a yellow gloved hand holding another glove which would appear to be a big hint that another Jim Lee Rogue is in the works, even if it's just the previous one with altered colours and a new accessory.
