Its really telling when one of Rommel's own men makes the valid observation that they could just rebuild GBN since, y'know, its a computer program, and there is absolutely no counter made to this statement, because there simply is no counter. But the way the show works (as far as Divers is concerned, Re:Rise has them I guess go Code Lyoko and phase into reality with their suits on Eldora? I haven't kept up with the show, admittedly), its like GBN is perpetually on all the time and is never down for maintenance. Its like the people who made the show are schizophrenic in understanding just what exactly an MMO should be. On the one hand, you have plots that make sense in the context of an MMO (I.E. the Lotus mission which, besides the absolute ass-pull one-two punch of modifying the win condition at the end simply to give an excuse to pop Trans-Am Infinite Bullshit Mode, worked a lot like a real life MMO raid mission where the whole aspect was time management and not getting distracted by the defenses which were intended to simply waste time and nothing more), and on the other you have core aspects of the setting that make NO sense (it can't be anything less than by design that its literally impossible to determine how GBN actually works in terms of player progression, in-universe currency, or how the hell the game tries to balance itself given how literally game-breaking the powers are of the 00 Quanta, Turn A, Turn X, and Psycho-Shard time-traveling Neo Zeong against literally anything other than those four exact mobile weapons).
Interestingly enough, the latest v1.78 version of GBN in RE:Rise was basically that: A full-fetch updated version of GBN from the previous seasons, with various patches and fixes following the "important" events from the previous season that offers more immersive, gaming sensations for players; With a possible rumour of a new Story Mode being under development and testing (Which Hiroto, Kazami and friends mistakenly thought the emergency message from Eldora was suppose to be initially); Just like a real game. If saving GBN was such a huge concern, you would have thought something like this would've been done in the previous season already, instead of the overly black-and-White Coalition war for Sarah's fate, with everyone seemingly fight without putting other factors in mind, like: What if even after Sarah was deleted, the entire GBN was still deteriorating further? Was there no even mildly possible way to have both Sarah and GBN be saved at all? Why didn't any attempt of maintenance, releasing patches or update was ever been done during all of these, to get the entire GBN updated further to at least try to fix all the mess Sarah's EL-DIVER shenanigans caused to GBN, until the best solution was founded?
Ok, that is awesome, I didn't know that existed and now I'm wondering how much and is it still available
Of course its V 1.78. That's the Mk.II's number (RX-178). Additionally, it gets into some really gray moral area that Riku clearly was not mature enough to understand, given Sarah is damn well fully cognizant that her continued existence would lead to the destruction of the game world near the end and was willing to off herself for the greater good (as dubious as 'greater good' means in the context of Divers). Riku, in his infinite stupidity, would have tried to fight his way to some kind of solution, and really its by pure fucking luck that the solution comes through the fact hoodie No-Name Astray guy somehow has the ability to mass-produce Break Decals. And quite frankly, the administration of GBN is a bunch of shitheads given their excuse for not patching the break decals was 'oh, even though you have visual recorded proof and testimony from somebody who actually used the damn thing, because the model doesn't have any trace of the break decal and our code shows nothing is wrong, we aren't going to do anything'. That's not how you do any kind of software development and support - I work in software development and if shit goes wrong in a product being developed, that shit gets logged as a bug, and then attempted to be reproduced - only after failing to reproduce the bug is it dismissed. If the bug is reproducable, then the source is tracked the fuck down and plans made to eventually fix it, depending on the criticality of said bug. Something on the level of Break Decals would be considered a critical level bug and heaven and earth would be moved to fixing exploits like that.
And in RE:Rise, the fact that Riku with his short-sighted POV of trying to fight his way until an ass-pull solution reveals itself (Not aware that things didn't always work the way he always wanted) and not mature enough to understand anything else other than "I MUST SAVE SARAH!!!!" during the second Coalition battle pretty much ties in with how RE:Rise's MC grow to hate him (And the entire OG BUILD DIVERS team) for the fact that he had to suffer because Eve showed actual agency in her own fate and that of her world as opposed to Sarah who was, you know, just kinda there and in doing nothing to warrant herself into being saved, as in: Why could Sarah get to live if Eve had to die? Why does Riku get his happy ending when he never did anything to deserve it? Why did my friend have to die so yours could live!? But for real, it's such a disparity in story and character quality to see those events again from Hiroto's perspective with Riku plot armoring himself to success while generically whining about the 'lOvE fOr gUnPlA', ignoring everything else that's going on. Hiroto got the short end of the stick during this entire debacle. Riku's optimistic speech just made it worse when you know what happened to Hiroto, him not being given the choice to save Eve, when Riku never do anything to be worthy of getting Sarah saved but yet he still manages to ass-pull his way of getting Sarah saved anyway. The way that Hiroto's hatred for Riku was set-up kinda reminds me of something similar bewteen Kira and Shinn in SEED Destiny: Some "collateral damage" from the previous series' MC causes makes the current MC hate him. Prior MC is responsible for the death of current MC love interest. SEED Destiny is a mess because of a rushed schedule so they have tons of problems to solve in order to that setting would maintain coherence, which finally didn't. They should have removed Kira's presence from most of Seed Destiny (even most of Athrun plot of rejoining ZAFT, defecting from ZAFT, and joining Kira again) so they could focus more on Shinn, the supposed MC of SEED Destiny; So when (and in the case of Re_Rise, that is an "IF") both MC clash and share screen, it doesn't means one stealing the spotlight from the other.
My wife bought it for me last weekend when it was on sale for $108. Rightstuf normally sells it for $230, but it's been part of their birthday sale, so the price has been fluctuating every few days.
I would absolutely love to see 00 Sky get its shit kicked in by one of the Core Gundam Armors, because Hiroto is actually a really goddamn good pilot who understands how to utilize equipment. Riku just fucking LOLZ TRANS AM INFINITE BULLSHIT LOLZ his way through everything. Better yet, just have Alus effortlessly crush Riku with the Fake Nu and maybe throw Ramba Ral's speech about 'relying too much on the power of the mobile suit to make up for skill' that got thrown at Amuro early on in Mobile Suit Gundam.
Engineers Take Their Gundam for a Walk | Gundam Factory Yokohama Okay I knew they were building a giant gundam... I didn't know it could walk and move Already looking pretty accurate to certain episodes
Nice. I got the two Blurays with out all the extras. Watching it right now. You an get just the blurays at Target.com for about $95 or so. I got mine there. None of the extra stuff though. Nice deal. I paid $95 or so just for the blurays. You got lots of goodies. I'm happy with just the disks though.
Well I just got done with Gundam SEED, and by God talk about ramping it up to 11. Sh*t hit the fan so hard the fan broke! People popped like literal blood balloons and all the while I could not stop laughing at how over the top it was... but in the end of course everyone cries and it just completely offsets the hilarity of it all. I'm going to need to do a BIG think on how I feel about this show on the whole before I can give final thoughts, but from a cursory evaluation it probably gets a 5.5 out of 10 on the "so-absurd-it's-funny" meter.
...Saturn Armor's drill is a fucking counter-rotating drill set up. You have no idea how aroused that gets me...
Can we all agree that Hiroto's smile must br protected? ^^ Its nice to see him smile agaib. Man, Kazami rocks in this episode, talk about character development! Par and May were awesome too. The new One Eyes are terrifying as shit! And our boy Masaki...uff!! Cant wait to see what he will do next. Cant wait to see the series finale!!
