Yeah this was the one I got as well so if I don't have those issues, then maybe you'll be lucky and not also. I'll let you know in a day or so. :)

no there is not. if yours has that gap he will just have a gap it was a molding issue.

if the head is assembled as two pieces, maybe you can take it apart and file parts of it down even so they sit flush with each other.

if not, here's hoping they fixed the issue with the latest gift box set release that's currently available. :p

you do know that pic i posted was of the latest release box set right...

the heads pieces are just derped out and it crossed both versions of the reissue. the molds dont match i think the right side is actually larger than the left. i dont think sanding alone will fix the issue. the pegs dont appear to line up either properly either. but like i said if someone is ok with that more power to them. i was just pointing out where MFT fixed a major design flaw. *for me*

Your yellows don't seem as greenish as mine were. Sold em a few months back to upgrade to the mft versions but they definitely have all the flaws you mentioned which were a bit too many for me.

My set has the same uneven paint - not that bad though. Sludge is very tight, I'm nervous when I transform him but no stress marks or breaks yet. Grimlock's head is fine. Slag is laughably loose, but future / clear nail polish fixes him.

dont use nail polish as it will actually eat away the joint. i wouldn't be that concerned about breakage. dx9 still makes a damn solid bot. they are just tight the first few times.

just something that was passed around as common knowledge before people really knew about the lasting effects. future is great and so is water poly/kiki. the nail polish can have some adverse effects on the plastic. not all bots are created equally so just be careful.

LoL, how would i know the picture is of a re-issue or original batch???

to me it looks like the front muzzle of the head has too much material and makes contact first, so the back doesn't fit flush as it can't. if there was an easy way to take the head apart, i'm sure some leveling would reduce that huge gap in the back. but since it's pinned, then it will probably be a biatch to pull apart. and that's assuming they've not add glue to it as well, which would make it near impossible to crack open cleanly.

so only other option if that's the case is to use a filler and then sand smooth, but you'd have to paint the head. :p

okay, wait just thought of a possible third option. heat the plastic at the back of the head gently and gradually push to mold & shape the the two halves to close up the gap.

btw, this is all talk. i don't think i would really want to attempt any of these, as it all sound a whole lot of trouble!

Those first two are actually my pictures. I painted over the parts that had the bad paint to match as best I could, leaving the greenish "strip" on Sludge's robot legs for character.

Cool to see them circulating :D

I decided I wasn't going to bother with Grimlock's dino head since it was pinned. But maybe one of these days I'll heat that pin and take it apart. See if I can't sand down some areas on the neck that aren't normally exposed if it helps close that up a little.

they both looking pretty close to one another, just that MS has a little more presence given they are larger in scale.

are you planning to get MS meg too?

Probably should have waited until my NA Chimera showed up and my other MST cassettes, but nonetheless...

Don't think I'll be getting MST Megatron, happy with the Newage one.

With Reflector I don't mind having multiple just like with the cassettes or the triple changers.
