Could be but i remember someone on here said that they wouldve leaked from walgreens database already if we were getting an a walgreens exclusive this year i think it was Jtprime17 but nothing has been revealed/leaked so a walgreens exclusive is still on the table for now

To get everyone's hopes up - and by get your hopes up I mean take them to the top of the tallest skyscraper and then throw them off so they are dashed upon the ground below - Hasbro gave Target a handful of exclusives for the GI Joe Classified line that were just revealed yesterday. They were set to go on sale at 9am EST today. They did, and they sold out in less than 30 seconds. That is not hyperbole, that is what actually happened.

So uh ... yeah. Good luck getting Runabout for those of us who either can't go to a physical store, or who only have stores with absolute crap distribution.

Didn't Red Wing sell out quickly in the first wave, only to be readily available for MONTHS after that initial sell out?

Oh they know it. It's just easier to get those outrage "Likes."

Most target exclusives sell out quickly and then are available for a good while after restocks help it hit saturation.

I'm not going to speak for all overseas collectors, but I am going to speak as a UK collector. Whenever Hasbro makes a new toy an exclusive to Wal-Mart or Target or even Amazon, it makes me want to bang my head against the wall because it just means that I will either have to import it at least a %50 price hike because it likely won't be released over here at all. Siege Ratchet, Skywarp and the rainmakers were never released over here in any official capacity, the most reasonable chance anyone got over here to get Ratchet was when InDemandToys had managed to import some over, and they were still around £30 I believe which is nearly double the price that a WFC trilogy deluxe costs over here.

The rainmakers and Skywarp were never released over here, neither was the 35th anniversary Soundblaster, they were treated like they didn't exist. I imported both Skywarp and Ratchet which cost over £125. It would have likely only cost about £70 if they were released through a UK retailer like Kapow or Smyths or whatever. I had no interest in the rainmakers, but I think they were going for £120 on eBay before delivery or import duties were even factored into the cost. Then Hasbro decides to make newer, better (arguably, I have no intention to buy the ER seeker mold) versions of Ironhide and Ratchet, the Seekers, the Datsun brothers etc who all had portions of their groups made exclusives and expect you to upgrade. In the US I imagine exclusivity is more of an inconvenience, but over here and presumably in other over seas territories, it's just extra, unnecessary cost that we have to accommodate for.

I have no idea if Amazon is going to be releasing the Prowl and Ironhide two pack over here, I would bet money that the Conehead two pack is not going to be released over here, Runabout might be released but who knows? I hope they do, but I said the same thing about Skywarp.

But, as is pointed out, the alternative isn't "They're not exclusive."

The alternative is "They don't get made."

This is the exact same thing as people who complained about repaints during CW leading to repacks and crap distribution of late wave figures due to repacks crowding shelves.

I no longer have the picture but Thrusts DPCI is 087-16-1955

there is no indication what number Thrust is but I do believe the product description of the conehead two pack confirmed it to be 26

This seems like less 'Exclusives Bad' and more of 'Hasbro has no idea on how to distribute Exclusives outside of US and Asia'

I'm not saying it would be better if they weren't made at all, the reason I made my post was to chime in my reasons for not liking exclusives. If I were in the US, I wouldn't have a problem with them.
    Precisely my point.

So write to hasbro uk. They're the ones responsible for your neck of the woods. In addition to that, less exclusives means less product, not more mainline product. Exclusives are also a good thing really as it shows retailers have faith in the brand, enough to hope that exclusive figures will draw people to their stores. If the brand wasn't doing well then there wouldn't be stores wanting to take on exclusives

Agreed. I'm not necessarily arguing for or against exclusives, there are plenty of pros and cons that come with them. I just don't like it when people describe a nuanced topic as just people complaining about something, y'know?

Oh entirely fair. The one area that I think people tend to misunderstand (not saying you do) is that Hasbro and Hasbro UK don't necessarily correlate, they might as well be considered separate entities. Just because Hasbro makes something an exclusive in the states, that doesn't mean Hasbro UK can't sell it (as is evident by Hasbro Asia releasing most USA exclusives at regular retail). The issue is that Hasbro UK just sucks all around and you guys constantly get shafted, even with mainline stuff.

The majority of people complaining about exclusives probably live outside of the US, and I don’t blame them. ER wave 2 Micromasters aren’t being distributed to the UK, and they’re not even exclusives. Retailers had to import then from Hasbro US and sell the wave together as apposed to two separate packs. Selects figures are consistently at least £4 more than regular, who knows how much these target exclusives are going to be.

But again, that's not really an exclusives problem (as evidenced by the dropped ball of ER wave 2 micromasters), it's a problem with Hasbro UK altogether. People complaining about exclusives would be better off complaining about the real issue (lack of support for the line from Hasbro UK), then they would get less people coming back with comments about how easy things are to get.

I don't know why the UK gets shafted like this. This thread has shown me a lot of horror stories about hasbro UK's distribution and it just hurts me to see this.

I wonder how bad Hasbro's distribution is everywhere else

Hasbro Asia is usually a bit better than the USA from what I've seen, not sure about other areas

Yeah are those dudes ever coming? I'd assume with Slitherfang showing up they can't be too far behind.

Yeah. True. But at least there. Are more Walmart stores than target. I don't have any near me.
