I havent bought into any of the MP sized cars for my movie collection [they're just too big, imo] but I couldnt help but cave on this guy. The studio series dlx is just WAY too puny and i'd rather have a giant Soundwave than a midget xD
    Scale be damned!

    Cant wait to get this

Probably mentioned before, but the instructions are the same level of crap as official MP instructions, lol. I'm struggling a bit with the legs, so I'm gonna watch a review for reference. I do really like the figure overall though, feels very high quality and looks gorgeous.

Would be cool if they made a Sideswipe too. (I have the SS KO, but it's a bit too small and simple)

Do you mean the hunt for the decepticons (rotf) OSKO of Sideswipe? Or does an OSKO exist for the studio series version as well? I think if done well Studio series actually might come out better than HFTD did (although for reasons I can't put my finger on the OSKO somehow seems inferior to the official despite (or perhaps because of) some improvements.

But yes I really want someone to take a better crack at Sideswipe.

I'd take him as well. Hell, I'd take an MPM sized KO of the ROTF toy. I thought it was one of the best deluxe molds.

Finally ordered this guy. Just got my oversized MPM Megatron yesterday so Barricade isn't alone anymore. Gotta build up the MPM Decepticons haha. I am very excited to get this Soundwave, though. The pictures and reviews are so good.

The Black Mamba one. It's an older mold if I'm not mistaken. HFTD Sidearm Sideswipe I think.

Recieved mine an hour ago. Anyone else thinks the instructions for the legs are bad?

I agree, LA Hire is super solid figure and has superb value for the money :D

I am considering Mista, but I don't like the legs, both in terms of transformation and overall look (SS has better look of the legs). How are the legs of Mista i terms of stability and poseability?

I gave up on the instructions when I got to the legs. I just had to watch a video. In the end the legs really take a while to learn, and are not straight forward. I think people are missing some tab in spots when they talk about the legs though. There are three places parts tab in for the leg, and honestly they feel fine to me once together. One of the tabs in his leg on one side does need to get shaved down or you can't get it together, which has been mentions a few times. His foot is a little strange, but I like it. It is different, but in a good unique way IMO.

They are very stable and poseability is good. The feet are different, but the toe and heel parts (tabs? bars? flaps? I don't know what to call them) add extra stability. You can't get crazy in the poses, but it feels like other MPM carbots I've used.

In the end I do like the legs for actually being different. Too often legs and arms feel like you just fold them once or twice and hide them under other parts. These legs feel like they are part of the vehicle.

I used the boxart as reference when transforming the legs

Great posability and very stable! However, I find that the brake light parts just sorta sit there, and therefore end up moving around a lot which is mildly annoying.
Do you mind posting some pics? I too gave up on the instructions and used a video but I wanna be sure I'm doing it right. The brake light parts near the knees just sorta sit there. Is that correct? I'd really like it if they tabbed in somewhere. Also the chest pieces that form the front of the car should have tabbed in. I feel like I'm bumping them out of alignment all the time.

Sure thing, tonight I'll take some pictures. From the videos I've seen there are a few things I feel like are missed out on. I was meaning to post a compilation of them anyways, so now is a good time to do it.

No way, the legs on Mista look far better than the SS. The thighs on SS look more accurate with the faux piece though. But everything else is off, including the overall shape of the foot. I still love the figure though

He’s here, and what a brilliant Soundwave figure it is! I’m not sure how another company could top this. Both modes are so good. The quality of materials and paint are glorious. The transformation is certainly involved, but feels on par with the official MPM’s. It wasn’t terrible transforming the legs, but I imagine getting them back into alt mode will be something else. Nothing worried me as I transformed and moved stuff around on him. The addition of Ravage and Laserbeak really put the package together.

My biggest complaints would probably be just wishing more stuff pegged together in the legs. They are solid, but for my own sake, I just wish that it all locked together more? It’s really not a big deal, it does feel sturdy enough and looks great! I also wished maybe Laserbeak had little magnets in his feet to be attached to the bits on Soundwave’s arms...probably not possible without sacrificing articulation on Laserbeak? Again, just a little thing.

If you all can get this, go for it! He’s a lot of ‘con in a small package! He looks great with the other MPM style figures!

So some parts do tab in, and others don't. The brake lights do just sit there, there is no tab. They do have a nice spot, and I don't find them flopping around or anything.

The chest has a soft spot for a tab to rest in a notch. In the picture below you can see the tab that rests in a space of it. It doesn't hold it hard, so it can move around still.
    upload_2020-7-20_21-53-2.png

The lower leg panels have three places to tab. The first is what I think everyone knows about:
    upload_2020-7-20_21-28-12.png

Then there is another tab that I noticed just seems to go together when you squeeze the panels together:
    upload_2020-7-20_21-28-57.png

The last is the panel to the wheel well (the green circle is the tab I had to shave down, otherwise is blocks the panel from moving down enough. The other leg doesn't have this problem). I have seen a lot of people skip this one, and the leg is a bit strange looking if you bend it here because you miss this tab:
    upload_2020-7-20_21-30-11.png

Once you do all this everything feels like good. One last thing is the back windshield folds between a few parts. I find if you slide it up under the leg panel the foot has the best range of motion.

    upload_2020-7-20_21-37-0.png

Once everything is together I feel like he is like most MPM figures. Most things tab in, and a few things just sit in their spot. But nothing is flopping around or doesn't stay in place. Overall I still love this guy. I play with him more than any other MPM figure I have (also the newest, so he does get some points for being shinny new ;) ).

He's as tall as MPM Bumblebee, which is accurate.
