This figure looks good, but it's also, like... genuinely surreal.

It’s a nice difference in the deco instead of being the same blue of his eyes.

I give this one a solid...Huh? Ill wait for the $40 super oversize KO of the voyager. The point of large non-transformable figures is detailing. Dont get the kibbletastic design.

Looking at this figure is like rubbing salt in the wound that Hasbro/Rooster Teeth decided to force the toy CAD models into the show... I get what they're trying to do, "hey kids, your toys came to life!!!" but it just looks half-assed. And then when you have things like this come out, it just further underscores the lost potential. I don't mind the kibble per se, especially since the articulation seems to be a lot better than the Voyager, but I wish maybe they had added a lot more panel detailing, maybe even more grime, made it "look" a bit more like a high-end collectible. This is just too close to the Voyager--really can't see why they bothered.

So... I guess they wanted to sell merchandise to viewers who do not collect toys, independently from the fact that TF shows ARE created to make you buy toys?

So like, in that weird condescending way where they say these aren’t toys for status? Is that what these are for??? I’m still a bit lost.

Also for anyone who loves Optimus as a character and want his newest design, but legit hates transforming toys. (They just dont like the puzzle aspect, its not even about kibble. ) To them this is just the 2020 model of Optimus prime (even though its super G1 to our eyes and theres a newer even better design in the main line) it like people who want the iphone 10, not because they need any of its features or because its especially better than whatever they have now, but because its the current model of the thing they like. This is the current Optimus and this is the best version of him

Yeah honestly that makes the most sense. And also it’s the hot “new” Optimus(Obvs not ER but it’s the design for the new show).

the thing is, there is 1) the dogmatic IP (the fly features of G1 OP) and 2) the pragmatic IP (the features of the OP offering you want to sell).
This can work for Disney IPs, but for TFs the pragmatic IP always has an anchor to the toy beneath- and this is where you have the conflict.

Me. I'm going to buy this and put in my shelf with my other DLX and Robo-dou figures. Really the only thing that bugs me are the ankles, but I can look past those. To me articulation and metal content are more important than transformation since I'm more of a Gundam fan, but the Transformers are still special to me since they were my first giant robots.

I can see where this figure may not be for everyone (I have my own bias towards things like the Studio Prime1 statues), but it is really disheatening to see these discussions become so mean spirited- usually because of perceived value vs. cost.

As a high end diecast robot toy collector, I feel that Threezero has some of the lowest prices available right now with most new diecast bots from other companies now starting at about $300 (and selling out). To me these toys are worth the price because when I get them in hand they feel and look very special. There's a weight and presence to them that you dont get with the regular all plastic bot figure. I also am not someone who plays with the toys very much and I like them more as posable display pieces.

Does this mean I have to look down on Voyager and Deluxe class figures? No, and in fact I came very close to getting some Earthrises recently because of how good they looked, but decided to get the REDs instead, or just stick with MPs and DLX. Mostly for space reasons. But I think the TF figures I can walk into any shop and buy have come a long way and look great, I just have preference for larger, diecast figures right now.

TLDR- Anyway, it is possible to respect others' buying decisions even if they don't align with your own. Toy collecting is a fun hobby, it shouldn't turn into an us vs. them kind of thing.

A nicely custom painted Siege Prime could look just like this. That transforms and a fraction of the cost.
His size and extra poseability are nice tho.

A cool looking figure for sure, and knowing 3A/ThreeZero probably of high quality too, with lots of heft and hidden die-cast. But it's just so surreal when you think about it... it's basically a non-transformable oversized KO of Siege Optimus, since it's based on the original toy's CAD blueprints... except it costs an arm and a leg and it's officially sanctioned by Hasbro xD xD xD

Genuinely impressed thei're doing this kind of stuff for Siege, also... thei're really banking on nuWfC to be be a hit, don't they? Hopefully it's actually well made and not another Machinima Prime Wars Trilogy...

Oh, and can we get some ThreeZero Transformers Prime figures in the future? Pretty pleaaaaaasssse?

There are high quality oversized KOs of Siege Optimus and Megatron, if you're good at customizing...

A figure based on an animation based on a toy based on a character design based on a toy from a few decades ago.

Based optimus is best optimus. Still looks great for what it is though, imo

I just don't see the point. It looks exactly like the Siege Optimus but doesn't transform, so why keep the kibble? I get that it needs to look like the animation, but as several people mentioned here a custom painted KO or highly skilled painted Siege one would look exactly the same and it would transform too.
Transformers figures that don't transform can't understand it really.

Looks cool. I like the normal SEIGE Prime better though. Maybe gove it some paint apps like that. I'm probably not the person this is targeted at though. I like my transformers cheap and transformable :lol

(I'm not gonna hate on anyone who actually likes ot though. Just not my thing.)

Soooo I guess I don’t understand the point of this. It clearly shouldn’t exist and makes me very upset at its existence even though some people may find it interesting.
