Just got my paycheck from work, I have enough to get him. Any recommendations on where to get him? I'm in the US
Also, I don't know about anyone else, but I think those recently announced R.E.D figures would look great with this guy

 

Seriously? Dude that's awesome! I only saw the first couple of reviews that were released but this has given me more reason to be amazed by this figure. This warrants some watching of newer reviews.

What sort of stand do you have there? I'd really like to get mine off the included stand. I considered hanging it, but I'm worried I'd have problems finding something that could take the weight. Maybe piano wire.

 

I’m sure this has been “covered”...
But I can’t find the info anywhere.

I can’t find where all of the smaller TAN/orange screw covers go (especially the smaller ones).

Did anybody make note of them while putting them in?

 

Mine finally arrived Friday.
Not sure if it was because I called everyone under the sun about it, or just coincidence, but he arrived safe and sound. Didn’t get a USPS update until Late Thurs afternoon, and he was delivered the next day.

 

Still missing a few key players for my eventual vision, but boy this display is starting to look exciting!!

Gonna sit down and attach all the spikes and hole covers tomorrow...

 

Those small ones go into the Planet Mode “horns.”

Definitely considering this figure, though looking at ShowZ, it looks like there is the current release, and a pre-order for a “2nd Release.” I’m in no rush whatsoever to get this figure, but I’m not sure whether the “2nd release” means that there could be potential improvements to the figure. Although I am also worried that the figure in the 2nd release is somehow worse in quality than the first release for whatever reason. Gah! It’s kind of stressful lol.

 

The pre-order for the second run is cheaper, I was almost annoyed by it.

 

I noticed that as well. Not sure if that means that the 2nd release will be worse in terms of quality, or if the 1st release is being sold at a premium as a “if you don’t want to wait, you can have one now, though it will cost extra to get one early.”

 

I actually think it's "wow we didn't expect the demand, alright we'll make more for the 2nd run."

I don't envy those waiting for the 2nd batch. Look at the previous pages and pages of people complaining about the shipping lol. And ETA is in November? Right during holiday season? Sounds like living dangerously to me.

 

The original price was lower, but it shot up for various reasons. The popularity means a further run is happening. They won't deliberately undercut the quality for a 20% discount!
It's more likely that they have covered their development costs with the first run and now it's purely profit once the manufacturing costs are covered. Hence a lower price.

Oh, and I noticed TFs-Express have Fans Toys Spindrift 2.0 at two prices, higher for first run. This might become a 'thing'... you want it first? You pay a little more! Happy to wait? You save a small percentage!

 

It might not necessarily be a first or second run but one batch sent by airmail and one by sea. Save money by sea but takes longer.

 

Legends are smaller so would work better. They probably have better poseability than RED as well.

 

Flight Pose but I would advise against it. I only used it for the pic and it was slowly giving due to the weight.

 

I took the plunge and transformed Unicron into planet mode and replaced the orange parts with the blue ones. I used @Mykltron's video, which is great.

Only thing is I pulled off the big horns (f'naar f'naar) and can not get them back on. Has anybody else done the same? What did you do to reattatch them?

(f'naar f'naar) is a catchphrase used by Finbarr Saunders (and his double entendres), in a funny adult comic in the UK called Viz.

 

One of mine came off accidentally and it's just a case of carefully popping it back onto the little raised pieces either side of the cavity. Takes a little patience, but there's no real trick to it.

 

Do we know what the total NEW preorder price will be from ShowZ?

Show.Z has "price unknown" at the moment. Maybe it'll be cheaper? Is it possible the vendors would charge more since they did after the initial pre-orders?
