if you like the character, it is instantly recognizeable as minerva, and other than the antennae not being black, the colors scream minerva. the stickers are pretty high quality and you get 2 sets in case you mess it up. the character had a weird backpack on the show, which she has, but they give you a choice to remove it if you want a cleaner bot. not sure what all the fuss is about. for the price compared to most 3p figures, this is a steal.

I mean it's not like most figures show of the transformation before they're released. That's why people look forward to video reviews. Although in this case Fans Hobby actually did put out videos showing off parts of how the figure and transformation work. I think I prefer all in one transformations in general, but I'm still going to try out this figure since it's a good price, looks good, and I really like Fans Hobby's stuff so far.

 

Yeah, true about the the "early peaks" at transformation. I mean, some do show off what they consider neat little elements of their transformation if they want to show it off. But you're right, it's not a given.

I'm still on board with it, if only because I plan on modding the figure to my taste. I friend of mine in town got his and says she's pretty cool, and he's the same as me with partsforming. And I have Archenemy, so I know their quality. Ordered mine through Baba, and I plan to ship her along with Fanstoys Brawn when he comes in, so I'll be waiting a while (I know it's popular for people who are willing to pay more to get their toys faster, but I'm very patient with this stuff and am willing to wait to save money).

 

MP Sunstreaker and Badcube figures come to mind here. It's all in one, but there's a bunch of thin armatures holding everything together. Armatures that have broken on these figures. So you end up with a partsformer anyway.

I'm holding out for the Nightbeat redo and I hope it looks as good as this one.

For anyone keeping score, I received mine direct from Fans Hobby on Saturday the 18th - 6 days from shipping to delivery. It was shipped via DHL but somehow final delivery by USPS. Haven't opened yet (busy weekend) but I'm pleased with the delivery time especially from HK.

 

Yay, got mine from TCP (my first real order from them, my first one was a raffle long time ago) on Friday. I had a chance to fiddle with her and I really love the design. I'm a bit disappointed with the removable top, but it isn't a deal breaker for me since I do like how they compromised and allowed me to fit the "hat" and weapons in there. Wish there was a spot to put the additional face, but at least the rest fits in there nice and snug.

I took some photos, but everybody else's are so much better I'll just let those speak for her. I did notice that I put the hood cross a bit higher than others here. Oh well, it still looks good where it is on mine.

 

Looking at the headmaster, it looks suspiciously similar to Fansproject headmasters in style. Same designer?

 

I'm sure I've read somewhere on these forums that Fans Hobby is made up of some old FPJ and MT designers.
