I was under the impression that some of you were implying that the 3p companies secretly knew which MP’s Takara was working on and released their own figures to beat Takara to the punch. I wasn’t implying that Takara would make MP’s to catch up with 3P.

It’s been rumored in the past that some 3p figures were released due to the companies knowing Takara had an MP in the works but wouldn’t be releasing it until much later. I don’t think it’s something that happens as often these days compared to before.

And to clear up confusion, what a 3p company is releasing or rereleasing now isn’t a clue to the identity of the MP I alluded to.

Here’s another clue for you guys. Said character hasn’t been used in most incarnations of Transformers but did show up in 2 cartoon series within the last 15 years. Does it mean 2005? No, but that range is a clue.

Shin, I believe you said something about hearing two different people from different ends of a spectrum, right? Would the latter part of said spectrum mean to you that we could expect to see this mystery bot soonish? Or is all just under "I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet"? Also, is it Devcon? I think we could all use an MP Devcon with Slizardo.

I was surprised to hear Starscream was the next MP and surprised we hadn’t heard anything about Blaster. I thought mystery MP would’ve been announced before Starscream.

We need a list making of all characters in all cartoons, and then find the one in classic G1 (Hasui's remit at the time, unless the off-piste element meant BW?) that doesn't pop up again until at least 2005, but only in 2 series...
I'm G1 only (but have seen JG1 stuff), so I'm not well placed, but there's bound to be some crazy folks that have seen MTMTE right through to the latest Cyberverse episode...it's a call to arms for those guys!

 

Has Rodimus Prime been ruled out by any of Shin's hints? If so I'm settling on it being an MP Wreck-Gar. :-D

I'm taking it the same as Microman (i.e. not ambiguous). The 'non-Hasui' and only re-appearance post 2015 clues + refutal of Jetfire et al leaves me with...Kup.

I don't see that. There is still a big gap between a current MP and a WFC figure. The argument holds better when comparing with older MP's (e.g. Siege Sideswipe may be preferable to the MP).

 

I mean it shouldn't exclude them. And you're comparing MP to WFC again. Studio Series is not WFC.

I'm starting to believe all of these "exclusions" are red herrings, and that the mystery bot will be a familiar G1 character, most likely an Autobot.  

I still fully believe we will get Jazz, CJ and Mirage in the very near future.
Nobody believed that we would get Sunstreaker any time soon, then out of left field, he's announced by Takara in a magazine.

I think many of us were expecting MP V3 Starscream to be imminent, especially after a new Starscream head came with MP44.

With MP Starscream being released in 2021, I don't see Takara releasing another new G1 Con. I'm not saying they won't, just that a new G1 Autobot is far more likely, given their track record of Bot to Con releases.
