My duo doesn't have any issues with their wings. My Starscream does have the issue.

$120+ imho is scalping. Around $100ish is fair. Gives the seller $20.00 for gas/profit and another 20% to ebay. The issue is the availability and demand. Target can't seem to keep up or properly distribute them. We even hear here that some are only available for personal pickup so OUCH!

Takara is said to be releasing them via TakaraMall, again, another premium for proxyorders. Trying the RK route, well all sold out so either the Jedi or the Sith route.

So my alarm goes off at 8 every morning, I usually hit snooze and get up at 8:15. Today after hitting snooze, I decided to check the website. Opened browser in my phone, refreshed the page, had the "ship it" button. Hit it and it added to cart. Hurried up through the checkout process and I now have a set on it's way to me. Checked to see if they were still in stock ( since a long in-stock should happen eventually ), and they were sold out again. Looks like I got lucky and hit one of those narrow windows.

They have been showing up in small windows this week between 6-730 am central time. Easily enough time to check out if you have all of your information and card already entered and logged in.

Once the eBay price starts to go below $100, there's really not a profit to be made on this set. eBay and PayPal fees will be $14. Shipping is $10.

If the person buying it pays tax, that leaves around $10 in profit. That seems like more effort than it's worth. The good news is that means we'll likely see more and more available since people looking to resell them won't bother.

The costs that go into selling anymore are just ridiculous. I could see paying $80 at a toy show. A $16 finder's fee would be perfectly reasonable to not have to go through this. But online? Forget it. eBay and PayPal and Revenue and UPS/FedEx all trying to dip their mitts into the till. At what point do you just walk away because it's not worth it to either party?

Sometimes I question whether scalpers, specifically on eBay actually realize how little money they are making on these types of things after fees and shipping. It hardly seems worth it IMO. Especially since you are also running a risk (if you buy up multiples) that the item will be restocked in larger quantities at the retailer. Although I guess if that hapoens they likely just return the items to Target/Walmart anyway so that is not much of a risk... still, to make 15-20 bucks after paying shipping and fees (which is often the case for items like these based on retail vs eBay sold prices) it would not be worth my time.

I can attest to this...sold a set for $90 shipped...not even on ebay...basically just recouped my "runaround" time.
    carry on...

That's why people are reluctant to pick up these kinds of things for fellow board members. Even if a store has it, it can be a pain in the ass to find it or have someone go in the back and look for it. Then you need to find a suitable box, packing materials, etc.

Paying for the item+tax+shipping (plus a few bucks for your time) isn't exactly a tempting offer. There's 2 near me right now that have been in stock for the last 2 days. I've been watching it on Popfindr because I've been fascinated by this whole Target scenario.

    Yup.

    I didn't pay any tax.

The seekers set are a pain to get on other venues (RK is my only option other than Pulse which is far from perfect)

Well if you think of it as profit or loss, sure. But I think of it more as earning goodwill. And that's been more rewarding honestly.

Hey, guys. I just happened to check on Target and the seekers are in stock, and without pulling a vanishing act every time you add it to the cart. They may finally have decent regular stock available, but you might wanna check just in case.

Update: And it's gone. I hope board members in need were able to snag some.

Update #2: And they're back in stock minutes later. Good luck, gang.

    Hi everybody...........how's it going?

So.....did you happen to see how Amazon is handling their Dirge/Ramjet 2 pack? It's been up for pre-order since yesterday. Nice & steady. No bullshit. Didn't go out of stock in 2 seconds like Walmart's Soundwave & Bumblebee. And there are no games like Target is playing with this set.

Just thought I'd point that out to all of you who were defending Target & their less than stellar website.

    Ok, buh bye now!

One's a dedicated online site and the other is a retailer. I wonder why they're not exactly the same?

It should also be noted that Amazon has cancelled pre-orders in the past with no explanation.
