The Inhumanoids television show and Hasbro toyline is perhaps a bit less well known today, but was a very important part of my childhood. What’s not to like about 10 story tall ravenous vine monsters from the center of the Earth? My goal was to upgrade the vintage toy by adding a bit more articulation, detailed and poseable vine tentacles, a mouth to resemble the cartoon, and a detailed paint job. To the face, I added side-burns, a bottom jaw off a Spawn Vertebreaker figure, and sculpted new "red fangs" since the figure's were broken. I added poseable elbows from adjustable faucet parts, attached tentacles from Green Lantern movie Parallax toys (finally found a use for the horrible things!) with the hollow bits filled in, and extra detail sculpted on. I attached an extra tentacle on each side with a ball joint for some extra poseability. The soft parts of the figure (head, legs, tails) were dyed a darker green so they didn't have to be painted. I tried to minimize the amount of paint on the soft parts so it won't become tacky. The rest of the figure was painted via airbrush to match the dyed parts with Gameworkshop paints and details drybrushed. Aquarium plant branches and model grass were attached for extra moss man detail. I added a bug's eye pattern to his eyes for fun. Tendril is part of an ongoing project to upgrade the Inhumanoids figure line. I had edited together a big Inhumnoids in the Transformers world kind of thing movie using animation from both series, it was quite long. Never could get voice cast together so nothing ever came about of it, but I had the whole thing pieced together.
Ooooooohhhh! That is so cool. Great work! I love me some Inhumanoids. You have quite a fine collection there, beautifully done up. Thanks for sharing!
Astounding! I loved these figs when I was a kid. Damn so good. I had to give up mine to a younger cousin who ruined them unfortunately...So seeing this makes me so happy
This looks great But I'm even more interested to see more of that (Indominus) Rex Skeleton. Do you have a thread for it, too?
I remember when you started this series, it's great to see Tendril finally in the mix. Looking back at the Earth Corp, I have to say again how amazing they turned out.
I did have it on youtube but youtube struck it down. subtitles would be interesting for sure, but I dont know how to do subtitles
