I believe I've seen it mentioned in the other thread, but I also see Transmutate's face as a bit of a ghostly image between the Nemesis and Rhinox (if that is Rhinox).

I know I said I was backing off my belief that "Rhinox" is actually Primacron, but I just can't stop seeing him, and now that the line art up there shows that the face is oriented in the same direction I thought it was, I am firmly on the fence about it. I just can't get Rhinox out of that blur, but a vaguely primate-like face (that honestly resembles Beast Machines Rattrap even more than Primacron)? Oh yeah.

Maybe he could get a Battle Master figure or something. A little monkey/fish dude that turns into a gun.

OK so BW Speculation: Selects-ulation possibilities... so many options from BotCon...
    Dinobot > Grimlock
Megatron > Grimlock or (less likely) T-Wrecks
    Rattrap > Packrat, Labrat
Cheetor > pending how accurate the alt mode is, Shadow Panther, Cataclysm
    Tigatron > orange ver. (Name?)
Terrorsaur > Lazorbeak, Fractyl, Strafe... BW equivalent of Seekers
Waspinator > BuzzSaw, Venin, and a deco to homage Armada Cyclonus to bring it full circle
    Blackarachnia/Tarantulas > bw Arcee/"Mesothulas"
Inferno > Antagony (more fembeasts please!)
    Scorponok > Sandstorm, Double Punch
Rhinox > NO idea... retool? Bonecrusher/Killer Punch
Airrazor > Magnaboss Silverbolt, Prowl II retool
Optimus Primal > Apelinq, or (in a similar development as Ravage in BW) BeastBox

Wanted at least 1 easy redeco for each... ugh, didnt make it.

Alright, so obviously doubt is gone. The rumours were true. Beast Wars is upon us.

So let's end the speculation of "Are we getting beast wars?", that's over now. Done. We even now know, based on the poster, that we are getting season 1 and a number of characters involved, and roughly what they will look like.

I really want to write a massive speech right now on what Beast Wars means to me, but I've written that in several segments in many different ways throughout the years. I wrote it in Masterpiece threads when Primal was first revealed. I talked about what Dinobot means to me when Dinobot was revealed. I talked about the impact of Code of Hero. I talked about getting Beast Wars for the first time. All of that's been said. But I'm feeling sentimental right now, knowing that Beast Wars is coming back, so I feel like I need to say something, to get it off my chest. Excitement makes think, and thinking makes me want to write.

I think what I want to write about right now has to do with Star Trek. Star Trek was before my time. Came out in 1967, I was born in 89. Heck, Next Generation began before I was born. But Star Trek continued to live on, and it was one of the ways I bonded with my dad over the years. It was a show he loved, and as I got older and was able to appreciate the series, I was able to love it and appreciate it and connect with him over it. The adventures of Kirk, Picard, Sisko, Janeway, Archer, and even to this day with the new series that come out, we still talk about them.

And so now, here we are, 25 years after Beast Wars came out. I have a two year old son, and another child to be born in a few weeks. Funnily enough, when my first son was born, that was the same month masterpiece Dinobot came out. This child will be born with the announcement of Beast Wars.

I don't intend to push my interests on my kids. The world is changing, there are going to be so many amazing and exciting things for my kids to grow to love that don't even exist yet. I hope to learn to love it along with them.

But Beast Wars is always going to be this special thing in my heart, and now we are getting the Next Generation of Beast Wars, in a sense. It gives me hope that these stories that meant so much to me, that I spoke about on so many occasions, are going to have another chance to live on in a new generation. That my children may connect with me with these shows. To see the change in Dinobot's heart and the growth he showed as a character. To see Primal continue to stand for peace and hope. To bring home new Beast Wars toys and have them be excited in the same way I was when I was a kid. Maybe it won't end up that way, it'll just be this lame thing dad is into, and that's okay. This just gives me... hope... that I'll be able to share my love of these characters with them.

It's so strange to think of Beast Wars being as old to my kids as Star Trek was to me. By the time they are old enough to enjoy it, if they do, it'll be 30+ years. Just makes me think.

Happens with everyone. What an intresting concept, people will always be doing this with Unicron trilogy, animated, Prime, and in many years, cyberverse.

Beautifully put. I came about after Beast Wars had run its course, but I still remember finding the full series on a shelf at Target. My first introduction to Transformers was the 2007 movie, and while seven year-old me loved that, I doubt I would still be a Transformers fan to this day if it weren't for Beast Wars showing me that these characters can actually have heart.

Definitely. It's so interesting how deeply we connect to these stories, told through cartoon images, through plastic representations. They hold so much emotional value. I mean, you're right, it's nothing new. It's the same thing as it was thousands of years ago when humans passed on their stories from generation to generation through word of mouth. I can just imagine how excited parents were to tell these stories they grew up with to their children, that's why they lived on for so long. Tha'ts why we still have stories today that are hundreds of years old. We connect to them, whether it be Anansi the spider, MacBeth, Moses, Captain Kirk, or Dinobot, we grow to love these stories, and we love to pass them on. It's so facinating and wonderful.

I'm so glad you were able to discover the show so much later. Glad to have you here.

    @Apollux

Can you confirm two questions I have about the fossilizers. If not its cool.

Are they new characters or homages to other beast wars characters?

    Are they all dinosaurs?

1st, congrats on the new arrival!

I didn't have anything like what you've described growing up... my Dads were somehow two different examples of near cliches for "man stuff" and Nerd-dom was NOT on their radars, so I really wasn't either.

Nonetheless, my 7 year old has his own TF's, has "worked a trade" with me for Beast Wars figures (um he LOVES Retrax... so yeah we're not identical :D ), and as recently as 2 days ago he was schooling me in Ben 10 aliens during a pretend fight in the living room.

We recently started watching the series again, and never before the opening theme for Beast Wars has he volunteered an air-guitar... it IS pretty awesome to be able to share it.

I believe they're a mix, old, new and homages. Not sure if all Dinos, as I've only seen a couple though.
