Is that even an opinion? decepticons forever! Also the autobots don’t have soundwave

 

well global domination plundering planetery resources enslaving species and committing mass genocide is what all the cool kids are into from what I understand.

 

I want to say the Decepticons because Soundwave alone adds a major cool factor (Shockwave is quite cool too). Plus, they tend to get the better weapons and equipment (as pointed out in Dark of the Moon).

I think the Autobots are cooler in that I'd prefer to hang out with them. They seem like cool guys who would be fun to be friends with. You certainly can't say Jazz isn't cool.

 

Both..and neither.

I think the Autobots are "cool" in that they fight to destroy a force of evil that seeks to dominate and destroy species and worlds that aren't their own, and often as the underdogs.

That said, the Decepticons can also be underdogs at times, which is kind of cool. And they can certainly have their cool guys as well.

 

Sorry Autobots, the shimmering wall of purple in a 1980's toy store was where it was at.  

 

I'm torn kind of. My favorite characters are split between the factions. Rewind and Chromedome are my Autobots to be meanwhile Cyclonus and Tailgate are my star crossed Decepticons.

I guess if I had to choose id go with Decepticons. Mainly because the roster is just more interesting, Megatron is light years more thought provoking than Optimus and Starscream will ensure im never bored. Plus the Decepticons have next to no human interaction minus acouple exceptions. Autobots like humans "for some unholy reason" so that makes them lame lol

 

Decepticons usually have more internal squabbles and extreme personalities that make them more interesting than the Autobots. Though this is true of a lot of entertainment media where there are heroes vs. villains teams. Plus on just an aesthetic level I prefer designs and alt-modes of the Decepticons.

Though not to say the Autobots are lame. Fighting against a bunch of genocidal sentient war machines is pretty cool.

 

Ah man to some extent it's kinda hard to choose. Then again BOTH factions have characters that are duds and others that are totally awesome. I sometimes tend to choose Decepticons cause there's something about the evil side villian character i like. Then i choose the Autobots for the truth and justice and order for all beings living that everyone must be given a chance to thrive in life.

It’s like the cats vs dogs debate in that whichever side is the most evil are the coolest so of course the deceptions easily win this.

 

It's hard to say, because both sides have amazing characters. And it hurts my autobot spark, but I have to say that Decepticons are cooler

 

For me its autobots Ultra Magnus, Dinobots, Metroplex, Fortmax and Springer. Also I have an Autobot insignia on my left arm.

I might seem old-fashioned, but especially with the state our world is currently in, I find it very hard to actually consider the friggin' bad guys "cool". Entertaining, sure, if written well. Compelling, sure, if given an actually understandable motivation. But I maintain that deliberately blurring the lines between "good guys" and "bad guys" to the point where part of the audience actually starts to think "being evil is cooler than a lame do-gooder", we don't have to wonder if we end up with more violence, actual police officers wearing the symbol of Marvel's Punisher and people literally sympathizing with the ideology of those assholes the Allies fought during World War II. And yes, I'm saying that as a German.

As such, I've actually grown more fond of noble characters such as Captain America (Steve Rogers), G1 Optimus Prime or even Ultra Magnus. We need more of those, not more Punishers, early 1990s Image Comics gun-toting jerk-asses and Garth Ennis/Frank Miller/Mark Millar vigilantes.
