The cab is very beautiful especially in frontal view as something of realistic and toon and in bot mode eyes are very big . I could buy one of these instead of previous MP 10,is too old, this one seems much more beautiful and at same time MP44 is too expensive and,for some things ,MS-01 convinces me more.

Anyone heard if there will be a reissue of this? It is sold out everywhere and the price is exorbitant in the aftermarket.

I sold my first release last year because of car problems and I would really want this prime back. Vastly prefer it over MP44 and TE-01.

Chosen Prime seems to have a reissue up for preorder. Haven't seen it elsewhere but it's an option if you want one.

Still hoping they make one in the colours of the TT MP-10. I just love that red and purple-blue. But then I'd have to sell MP-10 and that's probably not going to be worth it.

I saw this today as well. I'm not sure how much truth there is to it considering that they're the only store I've seen advertising it and it says "Estimated Release Date May-20" and we're now in July.

I love my MS-01, but I'm very disappointed about the Trailer... I always though that MS will do it, but it serms like they doesn't have the intention to make it.

Did I miss a memo? When did they release a toon version of MS-01 with new grill, painted waist, etc?

Someone hire that fan then 'cause I'd buy that version without hesitation.

I gave up waiting for a reissue of the original colour on this cause only one place in the entire planet is collecting PO for it(with missed released date by two months now) while not a single local seller here has ever heard of a reissue. I went with a TE-01 which seems to want my business more. Essentially the original colour MP version was never reissued since its initial release back in early 2019 while the TE which came out about the same time has been reissue twice with a rumoured third time coming.

MS-Toys really need to get their head out of their ass with the countless legends repaint and reissues. Ironically the legends version was reissued in original colours recently.

Not original colors, unfortunately - it was tweaked a little bit to resemble the toon version more. Minor changes, but I found them disappointing because I prefer Magic Square's original colors for that legend way, way more.

I keep going back and forth on it myself. There are likes and dislikes I have with all the Optimus offerings.
MS-01 is chunky and has that weird upper thigh cut and visible ball joint. But the colors, especially the blue, look wonderful and the transformation appears straight forward and fun
TE-01 has those peculiar grey hinges in the white hip and the thigh rotation at the knee makes any dynamic pose look like he has a broken leg. But his shape is amazingly toon accurate and his like zero backpack.
MP-44 has got great curves. No hard edges on this guy which makes him probably the most toon accurate and the paint work is glorious. But his transformation looks, not only mind numbingly complex, but also arguably he's a shell former. Then there's the matter of $$$
MP-44 KO gets rid of the price and the usual glut of Takara accessories that never come out of my boxes anyways but that transformation still makes me think that, much like my MP Sunstreaker, I'll never transform it again.

If someone made an Optimus that looks like MP-44/TE-01 and transforms like MS-01 I'd never want again.

I have to say though that having so many Optimus options brings a smile to my face. :)

I am in the same dilemma as you and went with the TE-01. The hard edge is not really a thing is person and that grey hinge is a non issue once you realized how awesome the figure is. Even the knee swivel doesn't bother me as much as it can still do plenty of dynamic pose. No doubt MP44 is way more poseable but the break in the sculpts and the overall kinda odd proportion coupled with the backpack make TE-01 the undisputed king of G1 OP currently.

That is the weird thing. My local seller insist that the latest reissue stock of the legend OP he received is the original colours. I even sent him pics of the toon version and he says nope. His doesn't look like that. In fact he said that MS never offered that version to him at all and he wasn't aware of it until I brought it up.

Something I still think about is which figure is the true king, which G1 MP Optimus Prime is loved the most. I feel like MS-01 is in the far third, while MP-44 and TE-01 are dukimg it out for 1st. Taking into account that MP-44's main and biggest drawback is it's price, and that the magority of people just can't and will not budget for it, I still want to lean towards TE-01. It just seems that people just want an OP that is clean and will look good on a shelf.

Well, for less than the price of an official MP-44 I bought MS-01, TE-01, and I have the MP-44 KO preordered.

Yes... but also no. Which is best is ultimately VERY subjective. A lot of people do seem to want something as close to the animation as possible, which is why MP-44 and TE-01 both get a lot of attention, but both are close to "full toon" than I personally care for. While I've got nothing against people wanting toys that look like animation cells come to life, I prefer MP figures that are like the idealized robots that the animation could have been based on. I prefer Prime to have white stripes on the cab and blue stripes on the trailer. I prefer his thighs and pelvis to be silver or light gray, not pure white. So while I enjoy TE-01 (the leg transformation is especially impressive) if I had to sell all my Primes but one MS-01 is the one that stays.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter which figure would win in an opinion poll. What matters is which one you think would look and feel the best on your shelf.
