Nope! At leas the items themselves. Got them from Amazon.com. Repugnus was about £20, the Micromaster 10 pack works out at about £8.23 per bot, even the shipping wasn't much but yeah the main cost was the Customs deposit, which was er £20ish x) that said, occasionally you get refunds from Amazon customs deposits if the total ended up being less than they allow for so who knows? Basically it cost me roughly another bot to get them over here, but still much less for the 10 pack and Repugnus - and Solus Prime - than just the 10 pack was coming up on eBay.
Anxiety plus disposable income is one helluva drug... but I'm still pleased with my purchase ^^

Yeah, the comic was merely OK too. Picked up the first couple of issues but felt no real compulsion to continue. Happens an increasing amount of time with me and Image, Boom, Vault etc. these days. I'll watch the film though as Mrs. O really likes Theron.

£75 for the Alpha Flight set (factoring in postage and customs) is about as good as you're going to get over here. Shifted a couple more bits on eBay and jumped on it.

It's just clicked tonight what really wasn't sitting well with me about it, they didn't actually *save* anyone. We're told that The Old Guard have done good but notice of it is perfunctory at best, and all the actions we get to see are self-preservation, even the induction of the Newest Immortal.
Also that massive bodycount/Immortals inured to killing thing is a terrible depiction of how a set of functional-if-limited Immortals with roots in Antiquity would be through experience. For the most part such statistically large combat bodycounts are a thing of modern warfare, yes, hundreds could die in Medieval Warfare but those mass massacres tend to be the outliers for the most part ancient battles were won by causing the ranks of the opposing force to break and disperse, heck, sometimes you'd capture rather than kill as a priority. They'd probably be super cautious about killing unless absolutely necessary, and if they're so tired and cynical as to be killing that casually, well, I can't see them going for any kind of Robin Hood missions.
They really shoulda taken the leaf from Person of Interest and had the statistically unlikely amount of knee and shoulder shots going on!

Of the many Hasbro Spideys this latest one looks like being a step forward at least in terms of upper body articulation, shame they didn't give the legs drop down hips though.

Moon Knight is a character I don't know much about but the figures always look cool. Are the little moon things like his version of Batarangs?

Alpha Flight for about £75 isn't bad either!

I also really like the retro style packaging the Spidey and X-Men waves have had. I don't remember the Toybiz figures the packaging is based on but the general style is a lot nicer to look at and were I a MOC collector I could definitely see the appeal in displaying those waves on a wall whereas the standard ML packaging doesn't really have the same appeal although I like the different artwork on the AOA wave packages and have them all as desktop wallpapers.

Anyone used Robot Kingdom before, especially during the pandemic? I'm wondering if parcels from them regularly get hit with customs charges and how long a package might take?

I'm thinking of ordering Planet X Ismenios + the upgrade kit as its the only place decent I can find him. No where in the UK seems to have him available and even with their extortionate shipping ($55) he still comes out as an alright price overall. I keep uhmming and ahhing on taking the punt, but don't fancy an extra £20+ ransom fee when he enters the country.

 

Evening all! Quick update on my foray into dyeing and - oh! - it's a mixed bag!

So first off, of the two types of dye I bought, only the Dye More worked. The purple stuff did nothing at all, despite using the same methods and testing on the same parts.


Secondly, some parts just don't like the dye. I don't know if there's any way to make them more permeable or what.

In the first pic, those hands/hips used to be bright blue. Perfect.


I dropped this whole guy into the same black/dark grey dye. It had a varying effect from his torso (good), head (eh) to the hood on his back (did you even dip?).


Same with Smashy here. That black dye barely made the head a shade darker. The torso/handle (not pictured) drank it up like Daniel Day Lewis.


The experiments will continue...!

 

Hi i had a relatively benign question to ask you - I have a big pre order set up on Kapow but as items keep turning up on sale at other shops and new items keep turning up, I keep emailing to cancel initial orders and then make entirely new ones with different items

Is this annoying for you? I feel bad. There's a few more items that turned up on sale at a nearby store which I have preordered with you, and I'm about to cancel and make a new order.. but that'd be the 4th time.

 

My missus is the manager of FP Manchester and she's forever dealing with absolute dickheads whinging on Facebook reviews. Fuck THAT sky-high.

I have and can't say as I remember getting reamed by customs but I'd say prepare for it anyway, just in case. Try asking them to mark it down when you order, I seem to remember them being fairly responsive.
