MythBusters is one of my all time favorite shows, the last few years Science Channel actually ran a marathon showing every episode of the show that started Christmas Eve and ran through the entire holiday season, and I watched it all the way through. RIP Grant.

    Too young, it's a shame.

Loved him on mythbusters. You'd be surprised what he's worked on.

He was also Sulu on the fan series Star Trek continues, which I've found I enjoy more than any of the recent Trek shows since Alex Kurtzman took over as show runner.

Hate when people go suddenly like this, I'll be watching my DVDs of mythbusters and star trek continues in his memory tomorrow.

Damn. Grant passed so suddenly. Brain aneurysms are unfortunately a thing among people of Japanese descent, I believe, so it may be genetic. My wife's grandfather (on the Japanese side of her family), who never smoked or drank and tried to eat healthy all his life, died from an aneurysm.

I loved watching Grant pal around with Tory and Kari on Mythbusters. The trio were just so much fun and enthusiastically geeky about science on screen. He was also a force on Battlebots, another guilty pleasure of mine. Just a very cool, smart, and chill dude. His poor fiancee. RIP.

Yikes, the latest deaths have been tragic and just adds so much depression to the year.

So many deaths, from the grandson of Elvis, to John’s wife, Mandela’s daughter and Naya... Now Grant... I hate 2020, so much...

Yeah i did too at Christmas and Mythbusters is STILL 1 of my favorite shows next to Dirty Jobs. I was kinda ticked off that discovery channel wasn't going to keep them ALL onboard till the very last minute. I always loved Grant in what he could do and all the laughing he did cause it made me laugh too when he did. This REALLY sux and I'm very very saddened to hear this. Just why did this have to happen its completely NOT fair hes still young i mean come on. I never got to meet any of them at anywhere but i bet Grant would be fun to be around.

Damn, I don't post too much about celebs who pass, but this is a tough one. I loved watching the original Mythbusters and had a deep appreciation for Grant's contribution to the show. This really sucks.

For anyone who was a fan, the build team had their own show after Mythbusters called the White Rabbit Project on Netflix.

Again i was posting for people to pray for her not to say she was dead and didn't know where else to post it on the forums. I didn't mean no harm and was really hurt that i was called out saying i was doing it to get a scoop or post it first. (had to get off the site for a day afterwords.)

If i upset people i'm sorry. I won't do it again.

Grant's exuberance about damn near everything was contagious, and his side of Mythbusters with Tory & Kari were every bit as interesting and amazing as the main duo's side. I always loved watching those guys, and like everyone else, was beyond disappointed when they were let go from the show. But also like everyone else, I was ecstatic when they got their own show on Netflix.

What's so jarring about this - besides his young age - and making me continue shaking my head in disbelief is just how brutally random it is. You hear about aneurysms, but it's rare that you know (or know of) someone who has actually been struck by one. Especially now... amid all this Covid shit and everything else... THIS is what takes the guy. It's just so beyond terribly sad. Can't imagine how hard it will be on his family & peers.

Whoa. I didn't know that. I should be more aware of that because I'm part Japanese on my mother's side.

Poor Grant. He always looked like he had tons of fun working on Mythbusters. He will be missed.

My wife corrected me and said both her grandfather and grandmother (jii-chan and baachan) on her Japanese side died of aneurysms. Man, what are the odds. It's something she's actually worried about in the future concerning her family genetics and possible hereditary illness like diabetes too.

Getting back to Grant Imehara, I feel so bad for the Mythbusters gang and for Grant's fiancee, Jennifer Newman (they got engaged in 2016). She's a fellow nerd and the two loved geeking out together with cosplay and such. They seemed so happy. Life is unfair.

I never met Grant Imehara but I've always admired him for his smarts and working dream jobs like doing special effects for ILM and Star Wars movies, and having a blast (sometimes literally) on Mythbusters. He was one of the few recurring Asian faces and positive influences on television and that was important to see growing up, personally speaking.

    Gonna miss him.
