On top of that, Sean spent all of the 80s trying to distance himself from F13, not wanting to be known only as “that guy that made the first one.” It was only after his career was dead in the water that he returned to it with Jason Goes to Hell as a producer (and stayed on ever since). He has no love for the franchise except for the money it brings in. And I think that’s what sets the likes of Carpenter, Craven & Barker apart from him- they have real passion for their movies. Sean’s just in it for a buck.

The remake was personally my favorite. Not because it's the best horror movie, but because of the INSANE plot.

FIRST, you have a Jason intelligent enough to build his Redneck fallout bunker maze, and steal gas to power generators.

NEXT, you get the myth of an AMAZING weed patch that is "legendary", meaning SOMEONE grows and maintains a careful strain. When a local discovers the patch and tries to sell it, he gets murdered. Now it's obvious he's a mechanic who's lived there a while, and Jason ONLY came for him when he took the mysteriously maintained weed and sold it.

IT IS JASON'S WEED. DO NOT F*CK WITH IT.

So what does this mean for NECA and their rights on the brand? They have three more Jasons in the pipeline and I'm hoping they still release them plus I was hoping for more in the future like Part 7 Jason, Part 6 Tommy Jarvis, & Uber Jason.

It would at least ease the pain knowing we'll never get anymore Jason for a while... At least there is the fan films to enjoy too I guess. Man this all just sucks.

I hope this whole mess gets settled in the next year. I really want to see that Jason Lives sequel set in the snow, and the Pamela Vorhees prequel that sounds like the Joker movie as a character study.

Actually, it's not a 4K Blu-Ray set, as there are no UHD discs involved. It's a Blu-Ray set that has some of the movies remastered in a 4K transfer.

Nevertheless, it is pretty damn awesome and is a must own.

I don't think it is supposed to be a Shout! Factory exclusive though, just that the lithographs and posters are exclusive.

Very good news. Awesome box set. I’d be tempted to get it if I didn’t already own the entire series.

Hopefully this will allow Gun Media to work on the game again too.

Glad that things worked out in the end for the fans and companies. Having a box set that has all of the movies or at least a big bunch of them is one way of celebrating it. Hope this means that the game will get more updates in the future.

Devs ain't coming back to the game. It was a bug filled mess that they couldn't get a handle on and they bailed at the first chance. They made that very clear in statements after they announced they were done with the game that even if the lawsuit was over the next week they werent going to go back.

Which sucks because Jason X, KM and the Grendel map were almost finished and several counselor costume packs were ready to go.

That’s true. But they had a bug update just a month or two ago, so they haven’t entirely abandoned it.

Though, yeah, the odds of getting any new content is extremely slim.

Hey, did anyone notice that the news about the lawsuit came out on the 13th? Classy. :D

Couldn't they just get another development team to take over the game? That way if the original team wanted to go for something else they can do that while the new one takes over.

Far as I'm concerned the big news here is that they're finally releasing a proper 3D version of part 3. No more colored paper glasses.

I saw it projected 3D once, the pop-outs really come right out of the screen. Modern movies are afraid to go that far. The crowd loved it.

The only downside is you need a 3DTV to enjoy it that way, but that's okay, I wouldn't watch it in 3D anyway.

I preordered it not realizing they were going to charge me immediately. Usually they just do a pre-authorization charge and don't charge until the product is about to ship. Suffice to say, there went $160 of my Sentinel money. :lol  :lol

I still wish they'd restore the cut footage from part 7 and edit it into the movie, would make that one waaaay better IMHO. I do hope some day to see Jay back up to his old shenanigans. He's such a rascal!

Look at the bright side on 2 ways:
1- You'll have space to put the movies set unlike a 2-feet giant figure.
2- Another unboxing review for the channel.

Assuming they still have the footage. Last I heard the cut footage were destroyed leaving only a low quality version.

Here's a fan edit using whatever they could with it.

    - not a downside for those like me who already have one! There are other options, such as 3D projectors and VR headsets. Anyone who has a PSVR will be also able to watch this in 3D, should they so choose.

Most modern 3D films take the 3D optional approach, F13th Pt III does not. It was filmed with the intention that that was how everybody would see it. 3D is embedded in the film-making vocabulary of this film. There are gags and set pieces that are only truly effective in 3D. It'd be like watching Wizard of Oz on a black and white tv. Of course you can still follow the story, but you're missing out in ways you won't realise.
