I can see how some G1 fans can be off put by Beast wars coming in and taking up half the spots but in reality there was no way WFC3 would have finished off everything left to get to. By my last estimation there's still well over 60 updates of figures. (Throttlebots, Headmasters/Masterforce/Victory Triggerbots/cons etc) Beast Wars are the heirs to be done next and their fans are ready to spend. I think the side by side release is a good move. I can't see any of the beast wars figures becoming yearly staples, it's most likely one and dones when it comes to their updates. (Transmetal/transmetal 2s being an obvious exception) you're not going to see season 1 primal coming out every year. I actually think there's still more G1/G2 updates left than there are BW characters total.

Don't get me wrong, I know this hampers the chance of a new Pointblank or Sureshot, but it's equally as likely that if it wasn't a BW character it could have easily been another season 1 G1 redo

It probably still will be with the Studio Series shift.

The big losers here are post-1987 G1 fans and Bayverse fans, who I think can still both expect some figures but not as many for awhile.

I don't see Unicron Trilogy/Animated/Prime fans as losers because the shift probably allows for one off releases, of main characters in SS. And these are likelier than ever to be new molds, not halfassed repaints, if they're in Studio Series. I doubt they'll be the main focus but they'll be part of how SS keeps Megatron, Optimus, and Seekers on shelves with the odd other character.

The loss is late G1 characters who can't be done in Selects (Rapido from ER Smokescreen may be viable for instance but Pretenders are going to be tricky) and Bayverse, which won't go away but will probably be sharing and competing for space with everything else.

And that's just the next 18 months. After that is anybody's guess.

I wouldn't worry that much about any remaining G1 and movie characters not being made for Generations and Studio Series. Hasbro knows that they both have big fanbases and that both eras had made them plenty of money in the past. So it's clear that they're going to keep on milking them as much as they can despite them also giving the other TF eras such as BW some much needed attention again. I mean there was a time where people were worried we would never get the G1 Predacons since CW didn't have them. Likewise with the Horrorcons after TR ended. But we did end up getting them eventually.

I’m hoping that if G1 & Beast Wars are coexisting in the same toy line now, then hopefully instead of having Optimus Prime & the main G1 cast then Optimus Primal & the main BW cast can anchor the waves instead, & we still get the obscure G1 characters alongside BW Season 1-3.

I feel it’d be a good compromise if we got Needlenose, Pointblank, Sureshot & the Jr Headmasters alongside BW Season 1 rather than yet another Prowl or Ironhide.

I have never been overly into (or even cared much for) packaging, but the packaging and artwork for WFC has been first class in my mind. And the NetFlix show looks good. I have not been satisfied with any media since the G1 series. Beast Wars was very good, but not my thing. Didn't watch Prime. I just hoped this trilogy, which has been damn near perfect in my eyes, found a way to push things ahead. Get us some of those post '87 and G2 characters, maybe something new. But I now feel the frustration of others seeing the line focusing on just the same characters in new looks.

We shall see. I recognize that G1 will probably carry on, maybe even far off, but it would have been cooler to give them a huge send off with Part 3 then change course.

Well what if the Commander Class figure for WFC: Kingdom, isn't character for G1 and BW, that debut in Cybertron side in the Unicron Trilogy, that's also deals with time traveling, also part of a center legendary group of warriors?

Fellas....This idea came to me earlier back in the Maverick talk in the forums tonight. What if....what if....Kingdom is a mishmash of not just Beast Wars but also the mixture of late G1, G2, and Beast Wars. We redo the Cyber-jets. Maverick has the potential to be remolded to be any of them. Plus you saved yourself $30 from buying the main one. Now mostly everyone wants Hooligan from this mold and Hooligan is a fantastic choice. But I'm more of the Space Case hype. Plus we can go obscure and make Selects repaints of this mold. Such as Wind Sheer

Come on let's have some fun boys

It depends. Some characters have more support than others. Take G1 - I dare say that the S1-S2 cast are most popular, with the movie/S3 characters a step or two down, then tailing off after that until you get to Beast Wars. This is not to say that they don't have their fans, but when figuring out who to cater to, I suspect the Action Master/Pretender/G2/Machine Wars fans are always going to be the bridesmaids to the '84 brides.

It'd be sick for characters like Axor, Gut Cruncher, Slicer get new figures. Krok we have now is fine

I don’t think it’s fair to say their shoehorning the BW characters into the trilogy. We don’t know if bringing in the BW was part of the plan in the first place. I mean this trilogy has always been a reboot to the generation 1 series.

I like the way you think, I’m 100% behind this. Especially with it being the final part of WFC it would only make sense for HasTak to go this route.

    Honestly!!!
Any G1 fans shouldn’t be mad if WFC 3 will 50% G1 and 50% Beast Wars.
Especially when you have the studio series going heavy on the G1, because of the 1986 movie and Netflix series will continue with G1 characters too.

So no chance of seeing Star Saber in WFC3 I presume?

There is a slim chance it can be a select exclusive for next year, but other than that...... nope!

We definitely need a new Vector Prime!!!! I would love to see him in the WFC 3 line

Thinking about it now. The WFC trilogy actually follows a theme that connects each part together. It's about the different time eras of the Cybertronians and where the Great Wars has taken them.

Siege represents the past with the cybertronian theme of the characters
Earthrise represents the present which involves the characters currently fighting the war now
And Kingdom that is if WFC3 is called that represents the future of Cybertron with the Maximals and Predacons

So when you put it in this light, BW actually fits into the WFC theme more then we think.

You also have the possibility for a grandios finale for a trilogy they'd do 86 cast plus maybe some forgotten characters from the post movie (1986) era. Heck I'd love stuff from the UT trilogy, Animated and even the Prime canon. But they were maybe planning on doing a full blown redux line starting off with G1, then Beast Wars was going to be its own line but then they might've reconsidered it during planning.

I mean you could be right and Star Saber could be the first Japanese G1 character to in this trilogy. But just going but what we’ve seen last year and this year, all the Japanese G1 characters are just Takara exclusives.

Maybe Takara got some deal going for only them to do those characters or something, I’m just speculating.

I doubt we see any JG1 stuff, the focus sounds like it'll be on BW Season 1 and US G1. I feel like there's little room for JG1 (unless it's a character that was also in the American G1 toyline).
