The vast majority of collectors told you this? Please don’t say it’s from feedback from these boards with the same handful of people complaining about the same thing over, and over, and over, and over? In short the vast majority comment is an exaggeration.

personal opinion is just that, an opinion, do I hate the aesthetic of "toon accurate" where you have bland ass panels with a shit load of little panel lines that never sit "just right" so there are huge ass gaps all over it, yep. can I voice that displeasure on these boards, yep, it's the main reason these boards are here. is my opinion worth any more or any less than anyone else's, nope. commenting on a "vast majority" or "the same handful" to make your opinion sound like it is the popular opinion is a fallacy, it is your opinion, nothing more, nothing less.

Well, I love the toon accuracy on the figures. I was waiting since 1984 to have an Optimus Prime figure. I finally got a representation of that character last year. I was buying Optimus Prime knockoffs before MP-44.

Considering that companies that make transforming figures are in it to make a profit, I'd say it's rather obvious that toon accuracy is what sells. If it didn't, we'd get toy decos.

Slight necro but I received my copy that I bought from BBTS.

I've never handled the mould before but I can for sure say he does not feel fragile as many have described the V1 and V2. The shoulder ratchets are looser than the original and the connection between the car hood to the windshield is much tighter. This definitely allows much easier time when posing him around.

My only issue seems to come from the shin panels. They don't want to *exactly* tab together but I can get it to a point where they can sit fine enough. Strangely I don't have this issue on the Hasbro Rodimus I got on the same day despite them both obviously sharing the same mould.

One funny little thing was that in addition to the collector coin, I also received two instruction manuals, both coming with the same exact trading stats card. This is in addition to *another* manual BBTS seems to have included inside with the coin, making the total to three manuals, two trading cards.

All in all I'm pretty satisfied with what I got. Despite MP-28 being the cleaner of the two, MP-09 actually feels befitting of the Masterpiece label. I'll probably make a post somewhere sometime comparing my thoughts on the two.

Is he worth the $229.99 I paid? Probably not but considering the lottery in what QC exists in the V1 and V2 as well as aftermarket prices, I'd say he is worth considering for anyone looking to get him.

A bit of a shame Takara will unlikely revisit this mould. I would have loved a Season 3 repaint with Rodimus' burgandy colour instead of his movie maroon.

You've never handled the mold, but you had the Hasbro version? That's the same mould. My issue with the re releases are the wonky elbows and repainted back of the diaper. I'm sure at some point there'll be a v2 of Rodimus Prime, hopefully no hot rod gimmick.

There's a few things aside from deco that'll make this figure better...
    1. Correct the corrected elbows
    2. Upgrade the hands, they are too dainty
    3. Upgrade the matrix chamber/front fenders to fit the mp10/mp44 matrix, it can be done just needs 3 pieces.
    4. Redeco some pieces for better bot mode as the trailer covers him up regardless

Re-read what I said. I got Hasbro Rodimus on the same day I received MP-09 V3.

As for a Rodimus V2, the biggest problem is how exactly would one go about making it? A copy of the G1 toy is highly unlikely considering how Takara tries to advertise MPs as higher-end TFs and an all-in-one ala DX9 Carry has its own issues with scaling in vehicle mode among other kibbletastic points.

I'm curious about #4. What parts do you feel he needs to be redecoed?

How about not painting the spoiler so it won't scratch up when you slide him into the trailer.

Planning on getting the LongLife verion. So you mean the Matrix chamber doesn't snug fit the MP-10 Matrix? Does it still break apart?

MP-09 was never designed to hold MP-10's Matrix.

    Oops, missed that part...

Primarily his back. Can be repainted to suit his deco better. I like mp9 and don't think we need a new one, just upgrades

Three MP9 matrix is quite small and is currently incompatible with the mp10 matrix

So the MP-10 Matrix was just for UM and Hotrod. 'kay.

You mean changing his back from red to orange I presume? I guess it could possibly work but even in Winnebago it would mess with the deco as it's the one exposed piece.

Personally I'd rather his shin pieces and the red kneecap be repainted to better fit the actual animation like it was with MP-28. MP-09 is a bit of a weird figure when it comes to the colouration choices especially as I either can't seem to find or are unaware of any previous incarnation specifically using his colour layout. Even the test shot that Protoman owns shows the red kneecaps were originally orange as they are in the animation model.

Does MP-09 scale with anything else? I've never seen him in person...was under the impression he is too large to scale with most other MPs.

@Inikalord I think with the way the trailer covers up the car very little is exposed... I think the back can be redecoed accordingly.

He's perfectly in scale with other MPs as Rodimus Prime.

For HotRod he scales with Mp1. He's kind of a bridge for both scales

He's the same height as MP-10. Only the Hot Rod form is too tall. Rodimus Prime is fine.

That top boot edge is red because it becomes part of his fenders that are exposed in his vehicle modes.

Bit the bullet on one of these guys, should be here next week sometime.

I know that in the promo pictures, when he's holding the Matrix it's MP-01's. Does anyone know how the matrix for MP-10 compares to MP-01's? I can find some KO matrixes for MP-10 on eBay, but nothing for MP-01.

I apologize as I did numerous searches for key words and couldn't find anything. Still can't. So if you have a suggestion I'm more than happy to try.
