Anyone have the bad 1:1 ko of mP 36 they’d part with?

 

I have all the versions that are labeled "generations" in that search, including the police set at the bottom of that list...

The smaller ones (yellow, green, purple, police, etc) are hella simplified, but not shampoo... i actually adore them.   (top right in pic is the police set)

The voyager is slightly simplified from the official, but the plastic is almost shampoo in places - it's got that tiny turbo feel to it in the grey plastic - it doesn't tab together well, and a lil' flimsy... definitely not a reuse of an official mold - its a bootleg for sure. (Roughly middle-left in pic, blue and green springer)

 

I would be excited but the KO companies have barely touched Siege and there are many more bots from that line that deserve to be OS than Optimus and Megatron.

 

Im hoping Blurr goes up to MP scale. Havent been crazy about the two we've gotten. I have less standards for S3-4.

 

Folks, I just got my Red KO CW Defensor and I'm having problems with combined mode. I can't seem to get the limbs connected. Seems the combiner pegs are too big. Can someone point me to the fixes. Thanks in advance.

Fan is a bit much I'm afraid.
It's mostly nostalgia.
I tried to watch the anime a few months ago. I love the backstory, but certain of the comedy elements (those with a weird mustache and a cowboy hat mostly) are a bit much.
I wish some company would produce a great Grendizer toy with the UFO Spacer for a good price. Most I see on the net range from upward of 100 euros, which is a bit much for a deluxe with an ascessory imo. Though I do realize all those toys have diecast and lots of paint.
I'd also love to see some brave soul put his shoulders under a Grendizer movie. That could be awesome.

if the movie would have ufology overtone with a believer and some sceptic character who defies UFOs and aliens until they show up in his face.

 

I had a small diecast Grandizer action figure as a child in the 70s. I loved that thing, but I had no idea what it was (back then, all the Japanese super-robots were turning up as "Shogun Warriors".

Decades later, I came to understand it was Grandizer, which has a HUGE fandom in the province of Quebec (under the name "Goldorak"). I called it "Red Dolphin" because I was 6, and apparently that sounds cool to a 6-year-old.  

Part of me would love a high-quality Grandizer figure, but it's nothing to do with the show... just nostalgia for "Red Dolphin".

Yep. I saw the French dubbed anime on TF1 when I was a kid. Goldorak is how he is known in francophone countries.
That awesome sequence always does it for me when Duke Freed goes: "Goldorak, go!" and he goes through all that hassle to end up in the UFO   So cool.

But Red Dolphin is a cool name too. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise  

 

Wanna ask, what does Goldorak mean? Or, rather, does it translate as anything?

Not as far as I know. I think it's just a generic invented "heroic sci-fi" name. It doesn't sound like any French word or expression I know of. Similarly, Captain Harlock was re-named "Albator"... probably just because it's easier for French kids to say.  

Not so. Goldorak was a licensed translation for the francophone market.
