And the contents of random box #2386 (random number )... Not a bad “haul”! I had no idea some of this stuff existed, let alone that I own them, lol! I have literally hundreds of boxes like this that I will post here whenever I get a chance and encourage other people with vast collections of boxes filled with mystery treasures to do the same.
Yeah, I was pretty happy to find that and judging from the looks of some other Conan figures to be released or revealed recently, I think these hold up quite well.
@Slave IV so which area of your warehouse was this box in? Just draw an X on the photo. Anyway, clear your inbox and answer those NY tickets. I'm trying to send you a pm.
40th aisle on the left, 6 boxes down. Lol, ok I’ll see what I can do about the inbox but I hoard PMs too!
Do you regret or glad buying some of that stuff? Are you going to sell them? I been going through boxes in recent weeks also, and I cringe at some of the stuff I have... but some other stuff I forgot I had, I'm like "Hell. YES." lol.
Haha, as stated in the regret thread, I have no regrets, only enjoyment from everything I buy for my collection. I don’t buy things for my collection just to sell off someday, they are all for me and my kids. And yeah, opening boxes and knowing I’ll have that “Hell. YES!” moment every time is a part of the fun.
This is entertaining. Let us know when you find Hoffa and the missing G1 Dinobot molds in there. Lol. My stuff is starting to get a tiny bit like that. Emphasis on tiny bit. When I returned to collecting, I packed many of the sealed items directly into cardboard boxes which I then stacked up on a bookcase in the basement. I told myself I’d stop when that bookcase was full. I’ve long since filled the bookcase and assembled a few additional stacks similar in size to that bookcase. I go through the boxes from time to time and enjoy finding the stuff I’d forgotten I picked up. In an odd way, it’s as much fun as actually opening it and playing with it. It’s like getting a brand new toy all over again.
Yeah, exactly! I love opening these boxes and finding gems. Most of this stuff I amassed during a time of mad collecting and I was going to comic shops every Wednesday to get EVERY comic that came out that week, including variants and also hitting up every shop in the area several times a week or even day. Stuff just went straight from my car, into boxes and stacked into closets. Closets became rooms, rooms became garages, garages became storage spaces, etc. So yeah, I blew away bookshelves a long time ago.
Yeah, that was me for the first 6 months of 2018 after getting back into collecting after an 11 year break. I loved Titans Return and was in a mad dash to pick up as much as I could as they were clearancing it out along with some straggling CW sets and the like. Then I caught the TMNT bug...and Voltron...and SW...and ML...and so on. Then there’s the goofy shit like these PhatMojo Ducktales figures Target carried. I got the whole damn line on clearance for probably $40 all in. I loved that cartoon as a kid, and those figures look great. With so many different personal interests and the “blink and you miss it” state of toy collecting these days, piles get big in a hurry...
Oh yeah, I saw that I had some Duck Tales figures recently too. Don’t remember what line but I did love that show as a kid too. Or still do. For me, I’ve been doing the “mad dash” on and off and mostly on for around 30 years. Holy crap! Lol.
It’s tough when there’s so much fun stuff out there that appeals to people our age. It can be a fun problem to have!
Yeah, that’s why you often see me say I wish companies DIDN’T make toys I want! If they make them, I have to buy them but if they don’t, I’m all good and have plenty of others to keep me happy. That’s also why you see me posting about not caring when there are delays on releases or shipments and I always pay the cheapest shipping no matter how slow it is.
No kidding about that. If I’m already waiting 6+ months for a toy to release, what’s a few extra weeks on a boat going to hurt. Plus, it’s more than a few $ saved.
Are you all independently wealthy? Just have excellent jobs? I’ve been around collecting since I was in HS and earned a few extra dollars tutoring to spend on toys all the way to now when I have some disposable income, so I’ve run the gamut from buying a little to buying what seems like a lot, but I’m consistently blown away by some of the collections here. keep posting these surprise box openings! you should make a spreadsheet to keep track of all of it
Haha, I’m lucky to have a good, stable job for a while now and while I don’t get much for what I do, it’s decent and I’ve fought to get a more respectable salary. I’ve worked since I was 14 and definitely lucky to have a supportive family so my living costs were low so I was able to save up and also spend on luxuries. I also had my own businesses and do some investing. I did start a spreadsheet a few years ago for new items but even that I’m unable to keep up with so fuck it, lol. It’s more fun this way.
