Yea that OG is my choice. I can’t wait to sell my cell shade to a buyer who is waiting in the wings. Sealed deal. It didn’t do anything for me and the OG is en route. Three is more than enough with X, OG and battle damaged yellow. And I actually went a little nuts and bought a second set of the X version for bot and vehicle mode. That seemed like a good idea at the time, but I may just sell it once he dries up at retailers.

 

Once its repaired, try raffling it. Constructors are sought after in the FB raffle groups.

How do you straighten this peg? It won't budge no matter how many screws I loosen. Feels like if I torque it any harder it will snap. Bonecrusher's peg moved easily.

I know it's supposed to look like the first image attachment but it will only stay like the second image.

Any advice offered would be appreciated.

There are some little bits on either side where you can see the ratchet teeth. If you slide one of these sideways with a tool or fingernail it makes rotating the joint easier. Doing this you you are compressing the spring a bit to take tension off the ratchet teeth.

 

OK guys, I took the whole combiner peg apart on Scavenger because no amount of compressing the springs using those tiny tabs would cause the ratchets to move. I think I found the issue. The springs inside are WAY too stiff (and probably too long). One other thing I noticed is that the ratchet that would allow Devastator to hold his right arm out sideways and away from his body is non-existent. With his left arm (Bonecrusher), you can pull his arm up and away to the side and you can hear the ratchets clicking and his arm stays in place away from his body. With the right arm (Scavenger) you pull it up and to the side and it just falls limply back to his side with no ratchet clicking whatsoever. What's up with that? Did they not include a ratchet for this arm action?

So it looks like 2 separate issues.

My question for the first issue is:

Do any other Perfect Edition owners who recently received theirs have this problem?

I'm contemplating pulling the springs out and clipping them shorter, but I have no idea how much to clip off. Has anyone done this before and if so, did it help? The other ratchet issue is the arm rotating ratchet. I'm pretty sure if I apply the force needed to engage these ratchets that rotate the arm, I will snap and shear the thin plastic rods that are used to affix the combiner tab to Scavenger himself; the tightness is that bad. The only way I could get the ratchets to engage the arm rotation was when I loosened the screw to the point where the spring was ready to pop out of its housing, and even then it was pretty hard to twist the peg.

Honestly, I'm ready to contact Show.Z and ask them to send me a new peg, but I'm afraid it'll be just like this one, right down to the missing ratchet that prevents the arm from pushing away from the body. Not gonna lie, for spending $500, I'm a little pissed. I expected a lot more than this.

There's a YouTube review from a month ago that doesn't cover the combiner but just the Perfect Edition bots themselves and even that reviewer seemed pretty disappointed too with the tolerance issues. Some comments responding to that review are saying it's mold degradation as a result of Toyworld overdoing it on the releases while others are saying what I'm assuming the problem is (the springs), but either way this is not what I expected for dropping $500.

There's currently 958 pages in this thread so rather than trying to search through every page for an answer to this, I'm hoping someone here can help me out with how I should handle this.

I did it on the right leg of the pants, about 1/16 of an inch, and it loosened it just enough to allow it to move. Prior to that it just wouldn't budge. I actually thought I'd snap it if I used any more strength!

So it definitely works when it is the cause, but just take a little bit at a time. You can't add it back afterwards...

 

Ok back in - just ordered old green again, lol

 

I used the Trypticon method. I massaged them for a about half an hour and then applied lubrication. It fixed the issue without having to shorten the springs.

 

I finally finished my last planned fix on this bad boy. I painted (not a perfect match but close enough) the lower lip on the pouting cel shaded face and hopefully he looks just sulky now.

I am a bit worried that cel shaded Constructor may detract from the rest of the set so far, but is an excellent stand alone piece. Please prove me wrong if possible.

Any recommendations of which Constructor matches best with the 2 Metallic Toyworld combiners so far?

You mean Devastator? No, the picture doesn't really capture the colour very well. I'm in a very daylit room and an all white shelving unit so it'll wash out the image a bit

They look great. Love the G1 toon Bruticus gun. That is the only thing I need to my Zeta Bruticus perfect.

I wish we could get smaller forearms for Constructor. That is all he needs.

 

Hell, I just noticed I didn't say that I'd also got the Bruticus stuff from @TigerBlade too! Both Kronos and Bruticon benefit from TigerBlade's add on parts.
