Yes this. I would be all over that. I would prefer X wing style game play but I'd buy a Rogue Squadron type game in a heartbeat. I thought that Starlink might fit that bill but it is way too complicated for what I wanted. I just want to fly around and blow shit up.

I honestly can't wait for this :D  The single players seems like it'll be fun and knowing there will be AI ships along with the players to fill out the battles is gonna look AWESOME :D

As for DLC, from everything I've read from the devs, there won't be any. I'm actually kinda shocked they didn't include the B-Wing at ALL... then again, I doubt we've seen everything already. There are hints at other TIEs in different screen shots (like the TIE Advanced v1 the Inquisitors used showing up on some displays in a few screen shots).

This really looks like a fun game :D

B-Wing and TIE Defender as potential update bonus? They gave an arena mode for Fallen Order as a freebie.

That'd be awesome, but MAN would the Defender be OP, but that was my go-to Imperial add-in as well to match the B-Wing... then again, if they ever felt like making the Assault Gunboat canon again...

The X-Wing tabletop game already brought back the Assault Gunboat, so it's out there if they want to use it.

That's some very XW/TF looking gameplay in those video, although with less detailed missions and target management.

It's very much in the spirit of those older games.

My memory of some of those TF missions is that some were incredibly difficult. The #@!$$ Gnab Gib mission still gives me flashbacks to a victory dance when I finally cleared it. There was another one where you had to scream across the battlefield defending multiple transports. Those were crazy. I have a feeling they nerfed some of the intricacies or complexity of the missions to focus more on the Ace Combat style, which though lacking depth, is admittedly a lot easier to follow (even though the missions aren't exactly easy).

I don't think it's entirely a bad thing. Pretty much all the campaigns in the series had one or two of those missions that were clearly bullshit and if rebuilding an audience for these sorts of games means not having 3 or 4 mission of scanning freighters or whatever before the real shit starts happening then I'm good with that.

I have not done any PC gaming in about 15 years - will this require top end hardware to run? Any chance my old Dell refurb could hack it?
